eFootball 2026 Epic Italian League Guardians (Nesta, Seedorf, Zanetti) pack review

The latest update to eFootball 2026 includes a new set of player cards featuring legendary Italian and Dutch footballers: Alessandro Nesta, Clarence Seedorf, and Javier Zanetti. These aren’t brand new players – they’ve been available before – but they’ve received updated stats to improve their performance.

The real question isn’t simply if these cards are powerful – we’ve established that they are. It’s whether these updated versions offer enough new value to justify getting them, or if they just feel like more of the same.

eFootball 2026 Epic Italian League Guardians players

Alessandro Nesta

  • Position: CB
  • Playing Style: Destroyer
  • Showtime Skill: Long-reach Tackle and Aerial Fort

Nesta is a truly exceptional centre-back with incredible stats and abilities. What really stands out is his combination of Aerial Fort and Long Reach Tackle – similar to his AC Milan card, which I love – giving him top-tier skills in both the air and on the ground.

On defense, key attributes are fully upgraded. Players excel in reading plays, reacting quickly, and making tackles – the stats still look fantastic. Their speed and acceleration are both in the 90s, which eliminates a common weakness often seen in older cornerback types.

From an aerial perspective, this card is incredibly strong. While his heading stat isn’t exceptionally high on paper, the Aerial Fort ability significantly improves his performance, allowing him to win more one-on-one battles than you might think. People often mention his leg reach, but it doesn’t usually present a problem during gameplay.

He makes up for any shortcomings with excellent positioning and defensive moves, and this update makes those strengths even better. Ultimately, he feels like a fully developed, top-tier defender with no obvious weaknesses.

Clarence Seedorf

  • Position: CMF
  • Playing Style: Box-to-Box
  • Showtime Skill: Long-reach Tackle and Phenomenal Pass

This Seedorf card really highlights his all-around midfield ability, making him strong in both offense and defense. Combining excellent passing with good tackling range gives him a well-rounded skillset perfect for a box-to-box midfielder – something the previous Real Madrid version lacked.

He still has excellent passing ability, just like before, particularly with short, ground passes, and his exceptional passing range is a real asset. He can dribble smoothly while under pressure, and he’s physically strong enough to win challenges in midfield.

He’s also very good defensively. Even when I customized his build, his defensive stats remained very high, consistently in the 90s. Plus, with his Long Reach Tackle ability, he’s able to win back possession and break up the opponent’s plays effectively. He also has great stamina, allowing him to maintain his performance for the entire game.

While Lothar Matthäus remains slightly more well-rounded overall, Clarence Seedorf is a smoother dribbler and physically stronger. Seedorf isn’t really known for winning headers or scoring a lot of goals, though.

Javier Zanetti

  • Position: RB
  • Playing Style: Offensive Fullback
  • Showtime Skill: Fortress and Phenomenal Pass

This Zanetti card is an upgraded version of the card you got if you chose him during the Festive Season event. Simply put, he’s a very dependable and consistent fullback.

He’s a relentless runner on the wing, constantly joining the attack and quickly getting back on defense. He almost always seems to be in the right spot. His new ‘Phenomenal Pass’ ability is a good addition, building on his existing ‘Fortress’ skill, though an ability like ‘Edged Crossing’ would have been an interesting alternative.

He’s not primarily an attacking player, and that’s okay. He’s strong at keeping possession, consistently defends well, and performs reliably throughout the game. While his defense is his biggest strength, he could improve his forward runs as an attacking fullback, so I’ve tailored his training to focus on that area.

Suggested Skills: Through Passing, One Touch Pass, Heading, Aerial Superiority, Low Lofted Pass

Best pick from the Epic Italian League Guardians pack in eFootball 2026

This is a decent pack for players looking to build up their defenses. However, I wouldn’t prioritize it too much, as even better options are coming soon. It’s generally a good idea to hold onto your coins for those future releases.

Here’s my final cards tier list and pack rating.
