A member of an iconic 70s band was spotted on a rare outing in Malibu on Friday.
The 78-year-old musician was wearing jeans and a brown shirt while shopping at Erewhon, a high-end grocery store.
He pulled his long, gray locks into a low ponytail and wore a pair of round, dark sunglasses.
He went on the outing by himself, completing his outfit with black sneakers that had white laces and soles.
The clean-shaven rockstar was seen loading items into the trunk of his car after his food haul.
Can you guess the mystery bassist?
The masked singer was revealed to be Timothy B. Schmit, best known as a member of both The Eagles and Poco.
As a music enthusiast, I’ve always been fascinated by band dynamics! This musician stepped in after Randy Meisner left, seamlessly filling his role in both groups – he became their new bassist and vocalist, really adding to the sound of these iconic rock bands.
After over 50 years of making music, The Eagles announced almost three years ago that they would be embarking on their farewell tour, called The Long Goodbye.
The Eagles came together in 1971 and, alongside Schmidt, features Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Vince Gill. Deacon Frey, son of the late founding member Glenn Frey, is also a member of the group.
They kicked off their farewell tour on September 7, 2023 in New York City.
We’ve been doing this for much longer than we ever imagined, but all good things must come to an end. It’s time for us to finish what we started.
In a statement released in July 2023, the band announced they are currently planning a farewell tour.
The Hotel California band announced 13 tour dates, booking Steely Dan as an opening act.
The Eagles have enjoyed an incredible 52-year journey, playing music for fans worldwide. They’ve continued to perform through many difficult times, including personal tragedies and various challenges.
They ended their heartfelt message by expressing gratitude to their managers, the team who helped with travel and setup, and the musicians who supported them.
Originally, The Eagles began as Linda Ronstadt’s touring and recording band in 1971. They quickly rose to become one of the biggest American rock groups of the 1970s.
The band, originally formed by Frey, Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Meisner, achieved significant success with five chart-topping singles, six number one albums, and six Grammy Awards.
The band’s first album, released in 1971, included two hit songs that reached the top 20: “Take It Easy” and “Witchy Woman”.
The Eagles are best known for their 1976 album, Hotel California, which has sold over 26 million copies in the United States.
