Controversial Abbie Chatfield joins KIIS FM replacement show aKyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s axing

KIIS FM has brought on Abbie Chatfield to help replace Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson after their departure.

According to News.com.au, the well-known influencer, age 30, will be the new host of the KIIS FM breakfast show starting Monday.

She’ll be working with Mike Etheridge, also known as Mike E, and newsreader Brooklyn Ross. They’ve been keeping things going on the radio since the Kyle & Jackie O Show ended in March.

Oh my gosh, it’s just a week with Abbie co-hosting! I’m so excited, but it’s also killing me that it’s not permanent. They’re still looking for people to fill the shoes of the old team, and I’m desperately hoping Abbie’s audition will be amazing enough to land her the spot! Seriously, she’s perfect, and I’m already counting down the days until her appearances are over. It feels like forever!

The network hasn’t said anything about who might replace Kyle and Jackie, especially while they’re dealing with the legal issues related to the unfair dismissal case.

According to sources, discussions with potential candidates to fill the position are already progressing smoothly.

Abbie is getting a chance to test out the role after Georgie Tunny, a well-known personality from Channel Ten, co-hosted the KIIS breakfast show with Mike E earlier this week.

As a huge KIIS listener, I was so thrilled to hear the latest radio ratings are fantastic! Apparently, everyone at KIIS is really excited about the results that came out this week, and they’re feeling super encouraged by them.

The show’s audience increased by 37,000 listeners in Sydney and Melbourne compared to the last ratings report in March.

From February 8th to April 4th, a total of 673,000 people listened to the show, according to the latest ratings data.

However, a survey conducted in March, looking at data from January 18th to February 28th, showed the show had 636,000 listeners.

In Melbourne, the number of listeners also went up, increasing from 403,000 to 440,000 between the two surveys.

As a lifestyle observer, I’m finding Abbie’s test run at KIIS pretty fascinating. Considering her history with the station has been a bit rocky, it’s definitely a situation everyone will be watching closely. It’s a bold move for both sides, really!

In 2022, Abbie had a public disagreement with Kyle and guest host Brittany Hockley. It started after Abbie felt they were unfairly criticizing her dating life, specifically her relationship with rapper Yung Gravy.

Despite patching things up over the incident, Abbie has been a vocal critic of the show

In 2022, Abbie expressed her surprise to the Daily Telegraph that Kyle continued to have sponsors despite making controversial comments about the Paralympics, and that he hadn’t faced any consequences for them.

Abbie isn’t new to the world of broadcasting. She currently hosts the popular podcast, ‘It’s A Lot,’ after appearing on ‘The Bachelor’.

As a lifestyle expert, I always keep an eye on where content is being distributed, and this particular podcast was available through LiSTNR. It’s worth noting that LiSTNR is actually owned by Southern Cross Austereo – a competitor to ARN, where I often contribute. It’s good to be aware of these connections when looking at the media landscape!

Okay, so you guys, I nearly lost it when Abbie announced she’s starting her own podcast company! She signed this amazing deal with Acast – that’s where ‘It’s A Lot’ started, you know – and it’s for multiple years! I’m seriously so excited to see what she does with this, it’s a dream come true for her and honestly, for all of us fans!

She began her podcasting adventure in 2019, starting with no listeners, a home recording setup, and limited editing experience. She expressed her excitement about collaborating again, as stated in a recent announcement.

This is a major turning point for my podcast. I’m now fully independent, handling all production myself, and partnering with Acast for advertising sales.

‘This is a perfect partnership for my next endeavour and I’m honoured to re-join the Acast family.’

Abbie Chatfield hosted the radio show ‘Hot Nights With Abbie Chatfield’ on SCA from January 2022 to August 2023, adding to her experience in the radio industry.

While Kyle and Jackie’s legal disputes with ARN are still ongoing, reports surfaced this week that Kyle was discussing a possible return to radio with the network, as their $100 million lawsuit moves closer to a settlement.

According to a source who spoke with news.com.au, the situation is expected to resolve on its own within the next two to three weeks.

Sources say Kyle will return to his show and isn’t holding any grudges after his public disagreement with Jackie, which led to him being removed from his popular program.

According to a source, Kyle Sandilands, 54, sees this as simply a business matter. It’s unclear whether he’d be willing to accept a contract worth less than the $10 million per year he previously earned before the show ended.
