Chainlink’s price is fluctuating slightly, holding the attention of traders, but it hasn’t triggered any significant investment. Currently around $9.10, the price is confined to a narrow range, caught between some short-term moving averages and a major resistance level. It feels like a period of stability before a substantial price change.
Chainlink price squeezed between key technical levels
Currently, the price of Chainlink is fluctuating between its 20-day and 50-day moving averages. While this seems like a neutral situation, looking at a longer timeframe reveals a more significant challenge. The main issue is a declining 200-day moving average around $11.61, which hasn’t been broken through since the fourth quarter of 2025.
LINK/USD is currently maintaining its position above the support level established in February, but it’s not making significant gains. It’s essentially stalled.

Momentum indicators aren’t showing a clear trend, suggesting the market is still undecided. For example, the RSI is right around 50, indicating neither strong buying nor selling pressure – it’s simply neutral. This means the market hasn’t committed to a particular direction yet.
MACD? Flat. No real histogram expansion, no strong crossover. It’s basically whispering, “Wait.”
CMF is at a very low positive value of 0.03, indicating only slight buying activity. This buying pressure is weak and doesn’t seem sustainable, a fact supported by the Awesome Oscillator barely remaining positive at 0.20.
In short, there’s movement but no conviction behind it.

Liquidation clusters hint at imminent volatility spike
The liquidation map actually reveals more useful information than just looking at the price chart. It shows a large number of traders have placed bets – and could be forced to sell – around $9.50 to $10.00, and also between $8.20 and $8.50.
As a researcher, I’ve observed this pattern before – it’s not just random price fluctuation. What we’re seeing looks like deliberate ‘bait’ – a tactic where traders target specific price levels to trigger liquidations. In calm markets like this, it’s common to see this happen, as these liquidations can provide the momentum for a larger price move. Basically, I anticipate a sudden, sharp price swing for LINK, either up or down, before the price settles into a more stable direction.
It’s not about direction yet. It’s about clearing the board.

What May holds for Chainlink price action
Looking ahead to May, the price of Chainlink will likely continue to move sideways, but with a small upward trend. If the price can break above the 50-day EMA and stay there, it will probably try to reach $10.00 again. If it goes above that, the next price level to watch would be around $10.50.
Let’s not jump to conclusions. The $11.60 price point remains a significant barrier unless we see a substantial increase in trading activity.
However, if the price drops below $9.00, it could quickly fall to around $8.30, where there’s a lot of selling pressure. Considering how markets usually react, a rapid price decrease is likely.
Currently, the price of Chainlink isn’t showing a clear upward or downward trend – it’s more like it’s building energy. When it does eventually make a significant move, it’s likely to happen quickly and unexpectedly.
