Celebrating 25 Years, Bluetile and Nike SB Take Flight With the “Monarch Butterfly” Dunk Low

The Bluetile x Nike SB Dunk Low will release on May 4, 2026. It features a black and white color scheme with Campfire Orange and Marina accents. The shoe’s retail price is $135 USD and will be available through Nike (SKU: IQ1323-001).

So, Bluetile, a skate shop out of South Carolina, really went deep with their first Nike SB collab. It’s not just a cool-looking shoe; the ‘Monarch Butterfly’ Dunk Low is all about the butterfly’s incredible journey and what that means for people finding their place. They tied it into the experiences of Mexican immigrants, recognizing the people who make our local skate scene so vibrant and awesome. It’s a really meaningful shoe, honestly – way more than just a fresh colorway.

This special project centers around Irving, a member of the Bluetile team who moved from Veracruz, Mexico, and became a key figure in the South Carolina skateboarding community. The Dunk Low shoe was designed to tell his story, featuring a black leather base with layers of textured material. Bright orange and rich blue accents represent the wings of the Monarch butterfly and the colors of the Columbia, South Carolina sunset, connecting the shoe to Irving’s new home.

The shoe’s design really enhances the story it tells. Soft, unique laces add a fun texture, and custom butterfly embroidery on the heel and special graphics inside the shoe complete the tribute. It’s a collaboration built with care – every detail feels meaningful and contributes to the overall design, rather than just being added for looks.

The Bluetile x Nike SB Dunk Low “Monarch Butterfly” will be released in stages. It will first be available in-store at Bluetile’s Columbia location on May 2, 2026, then in Charleston on May 3. An online release will follow on May 4 at Bluetile’s website. The shoes will retail for $135 USD, and a release through the Nike SNKRS app hasn’t been announced yet.
