A bunch of new movies became available at the beginning of the month, and more are on the way. One highlight is Nosferatu, Robert Eggers’ 2024 reimagining of the classic horror film.
The new film, starring Bill Skarsgård as the vampire, will start streaming on Peacock on April 21st. It will debut alongside the Christian drama Ordinary Angels, featuring Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson. Directed and written by Robert Eggers, this movie is a remake of the 1922 silent classic Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, which itself was inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Nosferatu Has a Strong Cast
Bill Skarsgård leads the cast of the new Nosferatu film, joined by Nicholas Hoult (known for Superman), Lily-Rose Depp (The Idol), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kraven the Hunter), Emma Corrin (Deadpool & Wolverine), Ralph Ineson (The Fantastic Four: First Steps), and Simon McBurney (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation). Notably, Willem Dafoe also appears in the remake; he previously starred in Shadow of the Vampire, a film about the making of the original Nosferatu from 2000.
The film centers on Ellen, who shares a strange, unsettling connection with the ancient vampire, Count Orlok. When her husband, Thomas, travels to Transylvania to close a property deal with Orlok, Ellen starts experiencing disturbing visions and feels increasingly drawn to him. As Orlok becomes fixated on Ellen and travels to her town, he brings destruction and insists she surrender to him, threatening to unleash a deadly plague on everyone she cares about.
Nosferatu Is Among the Best Vampire Movies Ever
With a $50 million budget, Nosferatu earned over $182 million in theaters, making it Robert Eggers’ most financially successful film to date. Critics praised the movie, giving it an 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film also received several nominations at the Academy Awards, including recognition for its cinematography and costume design. Many horror fans consider it one of the best films in the genre for decades.
I’m so excited! This movie is now streaming on Peacock, just in time for some spooky season prep! It’s one of a bunch of horror flicks they’re adding throughout April. If you’re a vampire fan like me, you’ll be happy to hear Wesley Snipes’ Blade trilogy is also available on Peacock right now. And for video game fans, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is there too, with the first movie coming on April 26th!
Robert Eggers’ next film is a Gothic horror movie called Werwulf, scheduled for release on December 25, 2026. The movie will feature Johnny Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe, and Ralph Ineson.
Nosferatu hits Peacock on Apr. 21, 2026.
