Bachelorette Star’s Husband Reveals Shock Cancer Diagnosis at 41

Ali Fedotowsky-Manno’s husband Kevin Manno has been diagnosed with cancer.

On Sunday, the former contestant of The Bachelorette, aged 40, along with her spouse, also 41, used Instagram to post a unified message disclosing that Kevin has been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. Medical professionals have identified two ‘cancerous areas’ on his right side and he is scheduled for surgery to have them removed.

As a committed follower, I too find comfort in the assurance that the condition is highly manageable. I choose to adopt a hopeful outlook and promise myself not to let worry cloud my thoughts regarding this diagnosis.

Kevin shared that he and his family are transparent and truthful at all times, describing themselves as open books. He wanted to share a brief update on a situation unfolding within the Manno household, assuring everyone that he wasn’t overly worried.

He added, “Ali revealed earlier that I underwent a biopsy followed by a CT scan, which were both quite recent. The results showed I have thyroid cancer, and indeed, that’s correct. However, I’m trying to stay calm about it.

The couple got married on March 3, 2017. In their post, they mentioned that he has a few suspicious spots on his right side which are suspected to be cancerous. However, they clarified that these spots are located in one lymph node, but the confirmation will only come after his surgery.

On Monday, February 10, Kevin is set to undergo surgery, however, the decision about whether only half or all of his thyroid will be removed during the operation lies with the surgeon.

The TV host stated, ‘Things are looking optimistic.’ They continued, ‘It seems promising. My surgery is scheduled for February 10, and once that’s done, we can consider this issue resolved and in the past.’

Additionally, they revealed that the pair (who have an eight-year-old daughter named Molly Sullivan and a six-year-old son named Riley Doran) have also sought advice from another specialist for a second opinion regarding their diagnosis and potential treatment plans in the future.

Fortunately, the doctor emphasized that papillary thyroid cancer tends to be less aggressive compared to other types of cancer.

According to Ali, the first thing he told us was something like, “If you must develop cancer, then this is the type you’d rather have.

She remarked, “It has significantly shifted how I view everyday existence. In truth, one can never predict when the next day may bring unexpected changes.

Next, the duo motivated their collective 973,200 fans to discuss their individual stories of dealing with thyroid cancer, including strategies for handling the challenging situation.

We’re interested in hearing stories from you or someone you know who had a thyroid removal surgery due to cancer on only one side.

The pair expressed gratitude for their supporters’ heartfelt encouragement and consistent compassion, wrapping it up in their message during these challenging, uncertain times.

‘Thank you all for the love and support you’ve always shown us. We are grateful ❤️,’ they finished.

People filled the comment section with messages of goodwill, optimism, and shared tales about their encounters with the illness that ended positively.

One individual shared: ‘On January 21st, they removed my left thyroid. Regrettably, I don’t have an easy type of cancer, but thanks to my self-advocacy and finding the right surgeon, the situation could have been far more severe.’

Kevin should find this task much less challenging than myself. I’ve been handling my discomfort without resorting to narcotics, and I’ve been off Tylenol and Aleve for the past two days. I have faith you’ll excel too!

A voice joined the conversation, sharing that they had completely overcome their cancer battle. Initially, they had opted for a partial removal, hoping to preserve the remaining portion. However, following the initial surgery, the cells were found to be affected.

I’d rather opt for a complete removal in one go, as it’s more preferable than having to undergo two surgeries. Sending you my best wishes ❤️.

Recently, Ali made an appearance on the popular reality series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. However, due to a finger injury, he was unfortunately forced to leave the competition during season 3.

In the second round, she sustained an injury on her hand while participating in a contest, ultimately causing her to withdraw from the event. Later, through social platforms, she shared that it was actually a serious sprain.

In the year 2021, the actress moved her family from bustling Los Angeles, California, all the way to Nashville, Tennessee. She and her partner decided to leave behind the chaos of Hollywood in favor of a more tranquil lifestyle.

At first, the change proved challenging for her, feeling homesick for her friends and old neighborhood. However, with passage of time, she managed to adjust and ultimately came to value their new life in Nashville, as reported by PEOPLE.

2010 saw Ali rise to prominence, having participated in The Bachelorette’s 6th season. Her journey started from competing in Jake Pavelka’s season of The Bachelor that very year.
