Avistar Analysis

Overview

  • B1 Re-Enter Electric MG Supporter who only supports Anis: Star.
  • Similar to Chime, she offers little to nothing to units not named Anis: Star.
  • Anis: Star is powerful enough in DPS to warrant a dedicated buffer, unlike Chime with Crown.
  • Regardless, the opportunity cost of using her over a tertiary buffer than can support the team is very high.
  • Possibly viable if Anis: Star is your best character in a team by a significant margin. Make sure to stack non-Attack Damage buffs for Anis: Star in that case.
  • Very cute.

Should I get more copies out of the Anniversary Selective Box?

Whether Avistar is a good choice really depends on when you started playing. It’s excellent for players who already use Anis: Star, as she’s a very strong unit. Avistar is also considered one of the best units you can get from the 3.5 Anniversary Selective Box, but that’s largely because free units from past anniversary events haven’t been very powerful.

Avistar is powerful, but only useful in specific situations. Before spending more resources on her with the 3.5 Anniversary Box, consider if you really need her. If you’re new to the game, it’s generally best to focus all your event boxes on getting Avistar.

Okay, so here’s the deal: if you complete this, you’re getting a free character that’s fully maxed out – that’s awesome! You actually need five of these maxed-out characters to break past the starting level cap of 160, so it’s a really important step.

If you’ve been playing for a while and don’t have all the units yet, and you’ve already broken the initial unit cap of 160, focus on opening boxes to get the units you’re missing. Doing so will help you progress in the lifetime challenge and raise your maximum level.

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

Avistar is a support unit designed to boost only one character: Anis: Star. She won’t provide any benefits to other versions of Anis, like Anis: Sparkling Summer or the original Anis, so it’s best to use her specifically with Anis: Star.

Avistar offers good buffs to AnisTT and works with a naturally powerful unit, but unlike Chime for Crown, she isn’t worth using because you’d be giving up something much better to include her in your team.

Avistar only provides benefits to AnisTT, and with a team limited to five Nikkes, this restricts team composition. A team including Avistar would require AnisTT, one 20-second B2 unit, and two B3 units. Because Avistar’s buff is exclusive to AnisTT, the team lacks a versatile unit capable of supporting everyone, including AnisTT herself.

Okay, so I’ve been thinking about Avistar and whether it’s worth using to boost AnisTT. Honestly, it only makes sense if I’ve poured everything into AnisTT and she’s already doing crazy damage compared to the rest of my team. Even then, Avistar doesn’t really do much besides buff her, so I’d only consider it for a tough raid when I’m really short on options and just happen to have both characters ready to go. It’s a super niche situation, basically.

Skill 1: Aftershow

This ability triggers when Full Burst finishes. It impacts a chosen ally. First, it boosts that ally’s attack by 80.26% of the caster’s attack power, but this bonus ends when Full Burst is active again. It also affects the caster, restoring 3.52% of their maximum HP each second for 10 seconds and removing the Stargazer effect.

After Full Burst finishes, Avistar gives AnisTT a very large 80% boost to her magical attack power, and this buff doesn’t seem to expire. This is unusually strong for a Support character like AnisTT. However, if AnisTT is playing as a Defender, the attack boost is actually about 20% more useful because Defenders naturally have lower base stats than Supporters.

Okay, so here’s the deal: when I activate Full Burst, this really useful buff just completely disappears. It’s a huge problem because Full Burst is when my team and I really focus on dealing damage – it’s our DPS phase. Losing that buff right when we need it makes me question if using Avistar with AnisTT is even worth it, honestly. It really limits how good it can be.

After her Full Burst ability finishes, she’ll regain a small amount of health each second. This is mainly to offset the health she loses from using her S2 ability and Burst, which temporarily lower her current HP after increasing her maximum HP. Maybe she gets a little overheated when fighting alongside her idol and needs to recover!

In case there was ever any doubt as to who Avistar’s ‘favorite pop star’ was.

Skill 2: Afterglow

This ability triggers when you use Full Burst while in Stargazer mode and have more than 25% health. It affects you, reducing your current HP by 20%. Additionally, when activated in Stargazer mode, it impacts your favorite pop star, continuously increasing projectile explosion damage and attack damage by 40.13%.

Activating Full Burst costs 20% of the user’s current health, but significantly strengthens AnisTT. The enhancements Avistar provides are substantial, with a straightforward but powerful attack damage boost. More importantly, it increases the damage dealt by both AnisTT’s regular attacks and the Stars she launches during her Burst.

Just so you know, when calculating damage, Projectile Explosion Damage is treated the same as regular Attack Damage. Essentially, AnisTT is dealing roughly 80% of her standard attack damage – both her normal attack and the Star attack from her Burst – without needing to activate any special abilities.

Anis already boosts her own and her allies’ attack power significantly, and stacking even more attack damage can actually become less effective. If you’re building a team around Anis, consider using units like Blanc and Noir, or Maiden: Ice Rose, to either increase your team’s overall attack or make enemies more vulnerable. This will help you maximize damage output without wasting potential.

Burst: Stargazer

Okay, so this ability helps everyone on my team. It basically resets my Burst state back to Stage 1. And personally, it gives me a nice HP boost – I get 26.4% of my maximum HP added to my total, and it keeps happening over time. Pretty solid for survivability, honestly.

When Avistar uses Burst, she returns to the first stage of her Burst ability, letting Anis: Star use her own Burst with Avistar’s help. This also increases Avistar’s maximum HP. Combined with the HP reduction from her skill S2, Avistar will lose a significant amount of health, but then quickly regain it using the final part of her skill S1. Frankly, it’s a bit confusing!

Campaign

As a player who loves building teams, I can confidently say Avistar just won’t cut it in the campaign. Damage is key, and if a unit doesn’t bring that, it needs to offer some kind of helpful ability. Avistar doesn’t do either. While she’s amazing at boosting Anis: Star, it’s smarter to use a support character who can buff the whole team, including Anis, or even a damage dealer who can quickly clear out groups of enemies. Honestly, there are just better options for tackling the campaign.

As a player, it’s really frustrating to learn that because Avistar is an Elysion character and Anis: Star is a Tetra-Overspec, they can’t team up in Tribe Tower. This makes Avistar even less useful when I’m trying to progress in PvE content, which is a bummer.

Arena

Avistar isn’t effective in player-versus-player (PvP) battles because she only boosts a single unit. While Anis: Star is a strong PvP character, Avistar’s machine gun-type attacks are too weak to be useful and will likely just help opponents build up their attack power.

Avistar already struggles in player-versus-player combat, and her limited abilities and low damage output make her even less effective.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Boosting Anis: Star with Avistar is very helpful for raids, especially against enemies weak to Electric attacks, but it comes with a trade-off. Although Avistar provides a much larger boost to Anis: Star than Chime does to its unit, a similar support option, it’s generally more effective to use a support character who can buff the whole team instead of focusing solely on strengthening Anis: Star with Avistar.

Okay, so I’ve been thinking about whether to buff Avistar for my Anis: Star. Honestly, it’s only worth it if she’s way ahead of everyone else in terms of investment, or if I’m seriously short on units that are good against Electric enemies. Like, if she’s the only Electric damage dealer I have who’s strong enough to carry a team, then maybe it’s worth considering.

An example for a team suitable for Avistar in Solo Raid

Anis: Star

Blanc

Noir

Ludmilla: Winter Owner

Because Avistar and Anis: Star both significantly boost attack damage, it’s more effective to diversify the types of damage buffs Anis: Star receives to maximize damage multipliers. Applying a Damage Taken debuff is particularly strong with this team setup, and Noir’s caster attack stat is helpful, as Avistar’s doesn’t function during Full Burst.

When tackling challenges like Special Intercept or Union Raid, it’s generally more effective to focus all your strongest units into one team, even if it means not using Avistar. These challenges prioritize dealing as much damage as possible with a single team, rather than trying to spread your electric-type units across multiple teams.

Strengths

  • Buffs Anis: Star, who is a very powerful unit.
  • Unlike Chime, Avistar buffs a unit that has damage potential to begin with.

Weaknesses

  • Exclusive buffs to Anis: Star means you can’t use a buffer that could potentially benefit the whole team, including Anis: Star.
  • Does virtually nothing if not supporting Anis: Star, as inflexible of a unit as one can get.
  • Her non-Anis: Star buffs don’t do much of anything.
  • The caster ATK from S1 not working during Full Burst hampers Avistar’s viability with Anis: Star substantially; if it was permanent, Avistar would more than likely be worth using with Anis: Star all the time.

Rating

This rating applies only when Avistar is used with Anis: Star. Avistar doesn’t work well, or at all, without it.

You can use almost any artifact set with this character. Since she doesn’t rely heavily on dealing damage or benefiting from increased stats, the artifact set you choose won’t significantly affect how well she performs.

Doll Priority

This Doll focuses solely on boosting Anis: Star, but isn’t very powerful overall, making her a low priority to develop. While she does increase AnisTT’s damage, these boosts are minimal and don’t fully take effect when AnisTT is in her most powerful state (Full Burst).

Skill 2 provides Anis: Star with a great buff that stacks additively with Anis: Star’s buffs, making it her most important skill.

Burst does little on its own, its main purpose is to activate Skill 2 for Anis: Star.
