Ashley Tisdale seems to be having the final say in her drama with her former mommy group, as she’s celebrating a significant achievement in her career.
Zac Efron’s former co-star, Vanessa Hudgens, 40, is celebrating a big achievement with her company, Being Frenshe, which makes hair care and fragrance products.
The brand has surpassed $250 million in total sales, with $100 million of that coming from annual sales at Target, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
Beauty brand developer Maesa partnered with Ashley Tisdale in 2022 to launch a product line inspired by her wellness blog, Frenshe. Maesa originally approached Tisdale with the concept.
Ashley Tisdale first tried her hand at cosmetics in 2016 with a brand called Illuminate Cosmetics. Unfortunately, the business didn’t succeed and closed down in 2020 due to low sales.
She described the experience as incredibly stressful, saying it felt like the biggest setback in her career so far, according to WWD.
Luckily for Tisdale, her company, Being Frenshe, has proven successful and established her as a credible entrepreneur after transitioning from acting.
The company currently focuses on scented hair care products, as well as body mists and fragrances.
Tisdale recently shared that she’s discovered a love for creating fragrances, something she never expected to enjoy. She said it wasn’t something she thought she’d be interested in.
As someone completely devoted to candles and beautiful scents, there’s nothing quite like seeing people genuinely enjoy something you’ve created. It’s especially rewarding when they’re excited enough to share their love for it online – like when they post about it on TikTok! It just feels amazing to know you’ve brought a little joy into their lives.
This business success will definitely lift Tisdale’s mood after her recent essay for The Cut went viral. In it, she openly criticized and left a ‘toxic’ group of Hollywood mothers.
In her essay, ‘Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group,’ Ashley Tisdale wrote about feeling excluded by her friends after having her second daughter, Emerson, with her husband, Christopher French. She described this happening during the postpartum period.
The group became even more interesting when rumors spread that Hilary Duff had started it, and that other stars like Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor were also members.
Tisdale said she wasn’t included in some events, and then saw pictures of them online, making her feel left out.
She wrote that it brought back a bad, but recognizable, feeling she believed she’d overcome a long time ago.
You know, as a mom, there are nights when you’re just… questioning things. I remember one night, after my daughter was asleep, I suddenly found myself spiraling, wondering if I was even ‘cool’ enough. It was so strange! It instantly transported me back to high school – that awful feeling of being on the outside looking in, and not understanding why. It really reminded me how those old insecurities can creep up even when you’re all grown up.
After being left out of another get-together, she finally sent a text to the group, telling the other mothers that their behavior felt immature and like something out of high school.
‘To be clear, I have never considered the moms to be bad people (maybe one),’ Tisdale added.
‘But I do think our group dynamic stopped being healthy and positive – for me anyway.’
Although the actress hasn’t said who she was talking about, people noticed the article appeared soon after she stopped following Moore and Duff on Instagram.
After the article came out, Duff’s husband publicly criticized Tisdale on social media, ridiculing her cover photo and accusing her of being self-centered and insensitive.
Trainor also broke her silence on the situation in an interview with Us Weekly.
Trainor explained that the situation stemmed from misunderstandings and confusion, and clarified that she wasn’t part of the conflict.
I’m not sure what went on, but I hope everyone is okay. I reached out to them all via text. Ashley messaged me and apologized, saying my name had been brought up in something.
Following the strong reaction to her popular essay, Tisdale told WWD she doesn’t regret being honest about her experiences.
She felt the audience really connected with her message, saying it resonated with the people she intended to reach.
