Ant and Dec reveal ‘carefree’ David Haye’s first words to them after chaotic I’m A Celeb finale were about RATINGS as they insist ‘it’s all just sport to him’ despite boxer’s plans to sue ITV for millions over ‘editing’

Ant and Dec shared that the first thing David Haye said to them after the eventful ‘I’m A Celebrity’ finale was a question about how many people had watched the show.

Last Friday’s finale of the popular jungle show was full of emotion, as Adam Thomas was crowned the winner in a dramatic finish.

The show faced several issues, including accusations that David, 45, bullied Adam, 37, and a past argument between Adam and Jimmy Bullard which resurfaced during a heated moment in the final episode.

Boxer David is planning to sue ITV following the portrayal of him in the series.

Ant and Dec have shared that he made a playful comment about the show’s initial viewership numbers after both he and Jimmy were asked to leave the after-party.

On their podcast, Hanging Out, Dec mentioned running into David Haye, who jokingly asked about their ratings, saying, “What about that then? Hope you get some good ratings for that one.”

Ant quickly added, ‘That’s just David being David. He’s a boxer, and that’s how he operates – it’s what he’s known for.’

The man, age 50, also spoke about what seemed like a difficult conversation he had with Jimmy in the parking lot after leaving the studio.

Ant tried to make light of the situation, starting with a joke: ‘I saw David Haye and Jimmy Bullard in the car park and immediately thought, ‘Oh no, what’s going to happen?’

‘I went over to David Haye, and he was like, “how brilliant was that? Wasn’t that great?”

We were definitely talking about TV. It wasn’t amazing, but we had a good time and everyone was getting along.

I walked away and saw Jimmy Bullard, so I shook his hand and wished him well. He said thanks.

‘So there was no confrontation. He wasn’t shouting at me, I wasn’t shouting at him.’

Ant concluded by saying he was disappointed the final moment of I’m a Celebrity South Africa wasn’t more of a celebration.

David is reportedly planning to sue ITV, claiming the broadcast of certain footage has severely harmed his reputation.

He reportedly asked his lawyers to send a letter to ITV, requesting a complete review of how the show was edited.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the recent discussions surrounding David’s behavior on the show. Last year’s footage has sparked a lot of conversation, with some viewers feeling his interactions with Adam crossed the line into bullying. Plus, he’s received criticism for some of his comments about women, and it’s important to address those concerns and foster a more respectful environment.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! I just read in The Sun that he thinks the show intentionally made him look like the bad guy! Like, they edited him to be the villain! It’s so unfair, and I knew they were trying to stir up drama! He’s right, of course he is! They totally played him!

I can’t even begin to tell you how infuriating this is! He’s finally fighting back against all the awful things they’ve said about him – the lies, the smear campaign, everything! And rightfully so, he deserves to be compensated for everything he’s lost. His lawyers think he could win up to £10 million, and honestly? He deserves every single penny. It’s about time someone held them accountable for ruining his career and his life!

According to a source, David had been discussing a potential show with Netflix, but those plans didn’t work out. It’s also believed that other sponsorship opportunities have been put on hold.

David has reportedly enlisted the services of £500-per-hour barristers Gatehouse Chambers.

Daily Mail has contacted representatives of David Haye and ITV for comment at the time.

The comment about Gemma being ‘fat-shamed’ happened when the campmates were deciding who would face a trial. Gemma stated they all needed to eat, and David responded specifically to her, saying she needed to eat.

Gemma reminded David that she gets grumpy when she’s hungry. David then asked her where they both were the previous night and what he had eaten.

In a recent podcast episode with his brothers, Ryan and Scott, ‘I’m a Celebrity…’ winner Adam claimed he felt taken advantage of by ITV.

I believe David Haye, and some of the other contestants, see the whole experience as just entertainment – a show, really.

This is purely for fun and entertainment. I’m not pretending to be someone else or following anyone’s plans but my own. I just want to have a good time and enjoy the moment.

What bothers me the most is that even after everything that happened on the show, David sent me a voice message. He said, “Hey, that was a fantastic show, really glad you won, congratulations!” It’s just… unsettling.

I just replied to him, letting him know that I’ve reached my limit. I wish him all the best, but I’m ending things here.

The whole thing was really difficult. During the live show, I felt used and you can probably see that in how it ended. I felt caught up in everything, but it didn’t feel like it was my moment at all.

Thomas, who has often spoken about his mental health, said Haye’s behavior in camp was clearly bullying. He explained that Haye deliberately tried to unsettle him, leaving him feeling emotionally fragile.

He stated plainly, “What happened to me at camp was bullying, and there’s no question about it.”

As someone who’s been there, I truly believe it’s harmful when people dismiss difficult experiences – things I and so many others have actually lived through – as just ‘banter.’ It’s not okay, and it minimizes the real pain people are going through.

I didn’t say anything at the time because everyone at camp dismissed the behavior as playful teasing, saying he was just showing affection. So I just pretended it was okay and laughed it off.

He acknowledged that others might see the situation as harmless joking, and he understood that perspective. However, he firmly stated that, from his point of view, what happened felt like bullying and he wanted to be honest about his experience.

I also spoke with David after leaving, and I asked him why he kept hurting me. I wanted to understand his reasons. He responded by saying he liked me personally, but his intention was simply to cause me pain.

‘If that isn’t classed as bullying, then I don’t know what is.’

After a health issue prevented the actor from participating in some of the show’s challenges, David Haye criticized him, calling him a ‘professional victim’.

He insisted he wasn’t trying to appear helpless, saying, “The last thing I want to do is play the victim. That’s what everyone is accusing me of, but it’s simply not true.”

‘I just wanted it all to go away and I didn’t talk to anyone.’

The finale of ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ received more than 1,000 complaints from viewers who watched the show live.

As a huge fan of the show, I was really surprised to hear that Ofcom received complaints about what happened during the live episodes. Apparently, some viewers felt the heated arguments went too far and actually broke the broadcasting rules. It’s a bit shocking, honestly, but I can see why people might have felt that way after watching everything unfold live.

A recent report from the broadcasting regulator revealed that 1,187 viewers complained about the live program, which aired from London.

This isn’t the first time viewers have complained to Ofcom about this show. Previously, 171 people submitted complaints about an earlier episode featuring a disagreement between former boxer David, 45, and Adam.
