Animal Crossing Free Download Available Until June 1

I’m still totally hooked on Animal Crossing! Even though New Horizons came out over six years ago, it’s crazy how many of us still play. I constantly find myself checking in on my island, visiting my villagers, and just making sure everything’s running smoothly in my little slice of paradise. It’s seriously one of Nintendo’s biggest games right now, and I can see why!

Even though we haven’t seen many hints about future updates, players are currently enjoying the game. Still, it’s always exciting to get new content, and Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can now access the latest additions.

A new set of Animal Crossing profile icons is now available for Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2! As spotted on Twitter (now X) by NSO Icon Alerts, these icons feature villagers born in May. They’ll only be available until June 1st, similar to other Animal Crossing icon releases.

It’s a fun detail that the game acknowledges villagers’ birthdays, and it’s surprising how many of them were born in May – a full 33! The featured icons change every month, and it seems like the set from New Horizons will be next.

NSO Icons are a great way to personalize your online profile and make it unique among other players. Plus, they’re a good use of the points you earn by playing and finishing missions. If you’d rather spend your points on something tangible, the Nintendo Store has some cool physical items available, but keep in mind you’ll need to cover shipping costs.

Early this year, Animal Crossing: New Horizons saw a surge in players thanks to the release of update 3.0 and a special version for the Nintendo Switch 2. The update added new characters and items, and players could even use the console’s mouse controls to play.

There’s growing speculation that we might hear some news about a new Animal Crossing game later this year or in early 2027, which is exciting for fans of the series.
