Amanda Bynes revealed a drastic new hair transformation on Wednesday.
The 40-year-old actress recently traded her blonde hair for a darker shade, showing off the new style in videos posted to her Instagram Stories.
Just after releasing a new song, she debuted a striking new hairstyle – short, straight-across bangs – while hanging out with friends in the car.
The actress, who recently showed off her blonde hair, shared some new videos. In the clips, she highlighted her striking eyebrows and the two rings in her nose.
The What a Girl Wants star sported black eyeliner and pink gloss on her lips.
She was seen combing her fingers through her hair with her long white acrylic nails.
In another video she was pictured posing in the bathroom in front of a mirror.
The transformation comes days after Bynes released a new song, after teasing her return to music.
The actress took to Instagram over the weekend to promote the single, called Girlfriend.
Bynes showed up in a video looking quite different, with newly bleached blonde hair, noticeably dark eyebrows, and sparkly makeup.
She announced to her 675,000 followers on Saturday night that her new song, ‘Girlfriend,’ is now available on Spotify and other streaming services.
“I’m really happy with how well everyone is receiving this,” the former child star said, expressing her gratitude for the positive feedback.
It comes days after she signed to the distribution platform Create Music Group.
The song ‘Girlfriend’ was released with help from Zabba and Fenix Flexin, and Bynes was credited as a writer in the song’s YouTube description.
The album cover is very simple: a photo of a snow-covered landscape with trees and a lavender-colored sky.
In a statement to E! News, Create Music Group called the song a mix of melodic rap and EDM, resulting in an infectious and memorable track with a laid-back West Coast vibe.
The song is built on a catchy opening and a playful, flirty vibe, making it something people will want to listen to again and again – and likely add to their playlists.
Bynes initially gave fans a snippet of the nearly three-minute song in late January.
In February, she announced on Instagram that @fenixflexinofficial would be featured on her song “GIRLFRIEND,” calling it “straight fire!”
The former star of All That recently shared with her fans that she’s heading back to the studio tomorrow to record her song, ‘girlfriend’.
She shared her excitement about the final result and said she couldn’t wait for everyone to hear it.
Following the end of my conservatorship, I released a single called ‘Diamonds’ with my then-fiancé, Paul Michael, back in 2021. It felt like a really special moment to share something creative again after everything that had happened.
She launched her rap career with a 58-second song, and later released an extended version and another single called Fairfax in 2022.
Amanda Bynes completed her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2019 and then began working in podcasting.
In 2023, Amanda Bynes started a podcast with her friend, Paul Sieminski, called ‘Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast.’ However, it was cancelled after only one episode.
The former actress continued to pursue her creative interests, showcasing her artwork at an art show in late 2024. She then joined OnlyFans in April 2025.
