Alice Evans says she wasn’t invited to her father’s funeral. On Tuesday, she honored her brother Tony, referring to the day as his ‘heavenly birthday’.

The 57-year-old actress has been through a difficult period, grieving the loss of her father, David, who passed away in March. This came just six months after the death of her brother, Tony, who was 55.

Alice recently revealed on Instagram that her father has been cremated, and she wasn’t allowed to be there. Only close family and friends were invited to speak at the service.

She said the news would have been devastating to her brother, and she shared a collection of photos of the two of them together.

Alice has faced another setback in her ongoing legal dispute with her ex-husband, Ioan Gruffudd. A judge has decided to extend a domestic violence restraining order against her for another five years, marking a significant win for him in their contentious battle.

Alice wrote a message saying she was really upset. She wanted to wish her friend a happy birthday, even though they had passed away. The birthday would have been April 21st, 2026, and her friend would have been 56 years old.

My brother and I learned our dad was cremated on Friday. Sadly, none of us children were included in the service, but extended family and friends spoke about him.

Honestly, I’m just relieved you didn’t have to go through that – it would have been incredibly difficult for anyone, but especially for you. You’re one of the most caring people I know, and I truly believe it would have taken a huge toll. I love you so much, always have, and always will, my dear sister.

Alice had previously shared she was in a ‘dark hole’ after losing both her father and her brother.

She shared that she finally got out for drinks with her cousin this week, and it meant a lot to be able to talk about her father and brother with someone who understood them. She ended with a loving message to her cousin, Steph.

I’ve been going through a tough time lately, but the incredible messages I’ve received from all of you have truly lifted my spirits. I’m deeply grateful and honestly a little overwhelmed by your kindness and support.

The star explained she is trying her best to respond to everyone amid her grief. 

She added that the messages she received meant so much to her and truly helped her cope with the incredibly difficult last six months.

My daughters and I have been going through a tough time, feeling far from our family and dealing with a lot of challenges. I just want everyone to know how much I appreciate the support from my online community – those who reached out via Instagram messages, texts, or email, even if we hadn’t spoken in a while. It means the world to me.

I truly feel blessed by all of you. Your support means the world to me, and I’m endlessly grateful for everything you do. It’s something I’ll always cherish.

She finished by saying she was sorry if she seemed overly sentimental, but she was truly touched by everyone’s kindness. She expressed her deep gratitude and affection for all those who had supported her.

My brother was not only my best friend, but a wonderful husband to Rachel and a truly cherished uncle to my daughters. They grew very close to him recently, and we all loved connecting with him through video calls.

Tony was the most wonderful brother anyone could ask for – kind, funny, and always there for me. His loss will leave a huge emptiness in my life and in the lives of my daughters, and I don’t know how we’ll ever fully heal.

Rachel, you’re the strongest person I know, and this week has been incredibly difficult for everyone, but especially for you. You’re such a kind and wonderful person, and I’ll always consider you my sister. You and Tone were perfect together – I’ve never seen a more loving and devoted couple. It’s heartbreaking to think your journey together has come to an end.

I can’t imagine my life without you, and I don’t know how to move forward without you. Rest in peace, my wonderful brother.

After Tony died, Alice said she was deeply saddened and felt lost, as she and her daughters were stuck waiting to return to the UK for his funeral.

She shared on Instagram Stories that she was very grateful for all the kind messages she’d received following her brother’s death.

I’m going through a really tough time right now. Things are delayed, and my daughters and I are desperate to return home to hug our family and say a final goodbye to my father, who means the world to me.

Sometimes things don’t go as planned and it feels like everyone in the family is stuck waiting for something to happen.

She explained that if she hadn’t responded to a message, it wasn’t because she hadn’t seen or valued it. She said the messages had really helped her through the last three weeks.

I’m feeling really overwhelmed with sadness and struggling to keep up with everything right now.

Before adding: ‘I love you all so much and so very, very grateful for your support’. 

Alice’s legal battle with her ex-partner, Ioan, concluded last month, with Ioan successfully extending his domestic violence restraining order against her for another five years.

Oh my gosh, watching Alice during the verdict was just… intense. She was so composed, so quiet, even when the judge, Michael Convey, was reading the decision. And Ioan Gruffudd, Ioan! He was there too, sitting way across the table, but he didn’t even flinch! It was crazy. Neither of them would even talk to the Daily Mail afterwards, just… silence. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, but they both seemed so… detached. It was heartbreaking, honestly.

At the start of the trial, Ioan described how Alice had harassed and abused him and his wife, actress Bianca Wallace, online for years. This led them to successfully obtain a three-year restraining order against her in 2022.

While testifying in court, Alice admitted to posting hurtful and untrue statements about her ex-husband and his new wife on social media, and she apologized to both Ioan and Bianca.

She expressed deep shame and regret to the court, and promised Judge Convey that she would no longer engage in online insults or harmful comments.

Honestly, I was shocked when Judge Convey just completely dismissed her pathetic apology! She kept going on about being sorry, but the Judge wasn’t having it – and neither was I! He reminded everyone how many times she’d broken the restraining order – the one that clearly said she needed to stay 100 feet away from Ioan and Bianca, and stop trashing them online. It was so satisfying to hear him call her out on it, because she just kept doing it over and over!

On Wednesday, the judge agreed to extend the restraining order against the Welsh actor. After reviewing evidence from the seven-day trial, he stated that Alice had deliberately and repeatedly tried to damage Ioan and Bianca’s reputations with a harsh and targeted campaign.

Ioan testified that Alice’s threats and intimidating behavior made him fear for the safety of himself and his daughter, Bianca. He also stated that her abusive behavior cut him off from his children. Furthermore, Alice’s promise to relentlessly pursue him and damage his career put his ability to support his children at risk.

Ioan and Alice separated at the beginning of 2021 and their divorce was finalized in 2023. Since then, they’ve been locked in a difficult dispute regarding finances and their two daughters, Ella, age 16, and Elsie, age 12.

In April last year, Ioan married Bianca, who gave birth to their daughter, Mila, in November.
