Ricochet Squad: The Complete Currency Guide and Tips

Ricochet Squad is a fast-paced, team-based third-person shooter for two teams of three players, developed by NICE PLANS STUDIO LTD. It features fluid movement and animations, and offers a rewarding progression system with 12 unique heroes and various missions. Success in the game relies on smart resource management and strategic spending of in-game currencies.

To improve your heroes, build new items, or upgrade abilities, you’ll need in-game currency. Managing these resources effectively is key to staying competitive and climbing the ranks.

I’ve been playing Ricochet Squad for a few weeks now, and I wanted to share a guide to the game’s currency, including tips on how to best spend it.

List of Free currencies in Ricochet Squad

Just like other games, Ricochet Squad offers free in-game currency, primarily coins. You’ll earn these coins by playing matches. As you get further in the game, you’ll need more coins, but you can also get them through events and the battle pass. Let’s take a look at all the free currencies available in Ricochet Squad.

1. Coins

The game currently uses four different currencies, and coins are the most important one. You earn coins by improving your rating, which you do by completing daily and weekly tasks. Don’t rush through the story – you’ll unlock character conversations as you progress.

You can also earn coins through the Newbie Pass, which is designed for free-to-play players. You get access to it by using battle tokens earned through playing matches. The Newbie Pass page offers not only coins, but also other useful items.

You can only use coins to improve your heroes. But remember, you’ll also need the corresponding hero cards to actually perform the upgrade. Make sure you collect both coins and cards if you want to power up your team!

2. Unicards/Hero Cards

In Ricochet Squad, you use Unicards to make your heroes stronger. Each hero needs a certain number of Unicards before you can upgrade them, but don’t worry – using them on a hero doesn’t remove them from your collection.

This means that cards earned and used for one hero, like Calibri, won’t impact the card count for other heroes like Magnus. Each hero’s Unicard progress will remain separate. Therefore, the best strategy is to focus on collecting as many cards as possible.

You can get Unicards by trading gems in the shop, completing the Newbie Pass, advancing on the Trophy Road, and finishing missions. It’s best to use these cards on your favorite, most-played heroes.

List of Premium currencies in Ricochet Squad

This game has one main premium currency, which you’ll need to save up for important purchases. I’ve explained how to earn it and where to spend it to get the best value.

1. Gems

In Ricochet Squad, Gems are the main premium currency. You can earn a few free Gems by completing simple tasks, such as linking your account or following them on social media. The Newbie Pass also offers a small number of Gems. If you want more, you can purchase them with real money.

You can purchase Gems directly from the in-game store, or take advantage of special package offers when they appear. Gems are the game’s premium currency and can be used to buy almost anything – including coins, Hero Cards, and even valuable boxes containing perks and heroes.

If you want to improve your game and unlock new heroes, you can purchase gems. While there are free ways to earn gems, they offer a limited amount.

Final Thoughts

The game features a straightforward but effective way to handle money. While there aren’t a lot of different types of currency, each one is important and tied to various items, creating a balanced system. To make the most of your experience, spend your money carefully and defeat your opponents!
