I’m seeing reports that Jared Leto has finally responded to those accusations made in the BBC documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret. Apparently, through his publicist, he’s completely denied everything, calling the claims ‘false’. The documentary is out today and airs on TV tonight, and it’s been causing a lot of talk online!
According to Deadline, Jared Leto has stated he has never sexually assaulted anyone and firmly denies the accusations against him, calling them completely untrue.
The documentary features four women who say they experienced problematic situations when they were teenagers. One woman alleges that Jared Leto groomed her when she was 16. The BBC reports they have reviewed a confidentiality agreement that this woman later declined to sign.
A second woman claims she had sexual relations with Leto while he lived in California, and that she was seventeen years old at the time. If true, this would have been considered statutory rape according to California law.
The film features ten women speaking about their experiences, with nine of them publicly sharing their stories for the very first time. They all state that the incidents they describe happened between 2002 and 2016.
