XRP Ledger Suddenly Jumps Above 500,000 Payments Threshold

After a few days of lower numbers, daily transactions on the XRP Ledger have jumped above 500,000, suggesting a sudden increase in how much the network is being used. Recent data shows around 508,000 transactions occurred, marking a considerable rise in activity.

Important fuel for XRP

While the price hasn’t moved much and remains below key resistance levels, activity on the network itself is starting to pick up. Historically, increases in the number of transactions have often signaled that more volatility is coming, because they show people are actually using the asset, not just trying to profit from price swings.

The XRP Ledger processed between 400,000 and 700,000 payments each day last month, as shown in the payment data. Even with general uncertainty in the market and XRP’s struggle to gain strong upward momentum, a recent increase above 500,000 daily payments suggests continued strong demand for the network.

Will XRP escape?

XRP is attempting to break out of a narrow trading range on its daily chart. After falling earlier in the year, it found support near $1.05 and has slowly been rising, creating a pattern of higher lows. This rise has formed an upward-sloping trendline that’s now meeting resistance between $1.15 and $1.20.

For XRP buyers, the main challenge remains a cluster of key moving averages above its current price. While XRP has bounced back and reclaimed some short-term moving averages, it still faces strong resistance between $1.23 and $1.44 from the longer-term 100-day and 200-day EMAs. Positively, we’re seeing a real increase in payment activity and overall market health – this rally is supported by actual growth in network usage, unlike previous temporary gains.

As a researcher, I’m advising traders to be careful. While increasing transaction numbers are encouraging, they don’t automatically mean XRP will surge in price, particularly while it remains below key long-term indicators. If XRP can break above the upper limit of its current trading pattern and hold that position, the next likely price target would be around $1.23, near the 100-day EMA.

If the price falls below $1.10, the current positive trend could be cancelled, and the asset might drop back to its lowest recent levels. Currently, the increasing number of daily transactions – over 500,000 – suggests that activity on the XRP Ledger is growing faster than the price, creating an interesting difference between the two that deserves attention.
