Ondo Finance shared the sad news on X (formerly Twitter) that their founder, Nathan Allman, has passed away unexpectedly. They expressed their deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
Ondo emphasized that Allman’s impact on both people and the industry was immense. He was instrumental in creating a strong, lasting organization with skilled leaders throughout the company.
In addition to honoring their colleague, Ondo Finance also announced a change in leadership. Ian De Bode, who previously served as President, will now be the company’s CEO. Ondo plans to continue the work started by their colleague, stating that this is the best way to remember and celebrate his contributions.
Nathan Allman Remembered
The news prompted responses from others in the crypto world as well. Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, highlighted the successful partnership over the past year, pointing to the listing of Ondo Finance’s ONDO token and their backing of Ondo’s real-world asset initiatives.
Chen stated that they will keep innovating in the area of tokenization and work towards a common goal as the industry evolves.
Nathan Allman started Ondo Finance in 2021. Prior to that, he worked on digital assets at Goldman Sachs, gaining expertise in managing investments and blockchain technology.
After Ondo Finance made a recent announcement, the price of ONDO fell 6.5% to $0.41. However, the token has still increased in value by 59% over the past month.
