Clash Royale has announced its big June 2026 update, which includes a lot of exciting new content! Along with a new Hero and Evolution, players can look forward to a brand-new game mode, improvements to how the game progresses, and the return of the popular Seasonal Trophy Road. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic update for the month ahead.
Clash Royale June 2026 update: All the features and additions explained
New Hero: Tombstone
It looks like the predictions were correct! A few days ago, the game developers shared clues about a new Hero, and the images strongly suggested it would be Tombstone. Now, it’s been officially confirmed!
This new card, the Tombstone, doesn’t summon a Hero right away. Instead, it’s a building you place on the arena. When you use its special ability, Regal Revival, the Tombstone destroys itself and summons the Tomb Queen to fight.
Tomb Queen is a unit that attacks buildings and constantly creates skeletons as she advances. Even when defeated, she continues to spawn skeletons for a short time. This ability can still trigger briefly after the Tombstone she creates is destroyed.
New Evolution: Princess
I’m so excited about the new update to Princess! She now has an Evolution that’s really cool. Basically, the first time she attacks, she shoots icy arrows, and then she does it again every three attacks after that. What’s awesome is these arrows don’t just hurt enemies, they also slow them down, which is a huge advantage in battle!
Even after she’s defeated, Princess’s special ability still takes effect. When eliminated, she causes a shower of icy arrows to fall, creating a frozen area that harms and slows down enemies within it. You can unlock Princess’s ability by collecting Evolution Shards or by upgrading your Pass Royale.
New Limited Time Mode: Princess Gambit
This update introduces a new, fast-paced game mode called the Princess Gambit. It lasts three minutes and features completely random card battles. Instead of building your own deck like in regular Clash Royale, the cards you play are chosen at random.
In this game mode, players draw cards randomly from a selection of 40 pre-determined cards during gameplay. It also changes the arena: the King Tower is removed, leaving only the two Princess Towers. Destroying a single Princess Tower immediately wins the match.
Before each game begins, you’ll be able to see which cards can evolve or become Heroes. Evolved cards start working right away – you don’t need to wait for a specific turn. Also, the game uses the levels of the cards you actually own. Even if you don’t have a card, you can still play it at its base level.
Victory Run mode
This update includes Victory Run, a new event where you earn rewards by winning games in a row. Each win gets you closer to better prizes, but losing will cost you a life. Keep winning to progress!
Checkpoints are safe havens as you play. When you reach one, you’ll regain lost health, save your progress, and even unlock better rewards for continuing on.
If you run out of lives before reaching a checkpoint, you have two options: you can go back to the last checkpoint, or use Gems to keep playing from where you are with full lives. You can also get extra lives during the Pass Royale event by upgrading it.
Collection Level, Seasonal Trophy Road, and other updates
As we previously announced, King’s Journey and XP are being removed. Now, your Collection Level will be determined by the combined levels of all your cards, plus any bonus points earned from Evolutions and Heroes.
Seasonal Trophy Road is back! In Seasonal Arena I, you’ll progress and earn rewards just like before, using your favorite deck. But Seasonal Arena II will have a twist: you’ll need to build a deck following specific rules.
In Arena I, the eight cards you used most to win will be removed, so you’ll need to create a new deck. When you move to Arena II, all your lower-level cards will be automatically upgraded to at least Level 15. After completing the Seasonal Trophy Road, you can keep playing without losing trophies or impacting your Ranked standing.
We’re adding Catch-Up Rewards to help players who haven’t played in a while, and making Pass Royale even better. You’ll now be able to skip tiers using Gems, and get bonus rewards for buying multiple Pass Royale passes in a row.
I’m really excited they’re testing a shorter Mini Pass! It sounds perfect for when I don’t have a ton of time to grind, lasting just about a week. And finally, we’re getting back the ability to watch the Global Tournament leaderboards, which is awesome! Plus, they’re making some nice little tweaks to the interface and banners, which always makes the game feel a bit fresher.
