Being a Halo fan is interesting right now, with a lot of new games and projects coming out. You’d expect players to be thrilled, but there’s actually a lot of disagreement about the upcoming release of Halo: Campaign Evolved. This game is a remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, updated for modern consoles, and it’s proving to be a divisive topic as the Halo franchise celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
Although many fans enjoy the story and campaign in Halo games, Halo: Combat Evolved is most remembered for its groundbreaking multiplayer. Fortunately, a big reveal about the next main Halo multiplayer game is expected soon, which is great news for longtime fans.
Halo fans should circle Tuesday, May 26th, because a new anniversary edition is coming out that everyone’s been waiting for, according to S&S.
After a frustrating wait since its planned March release, the first volume of Halo: Waypoint Chronicles is coming out next week. This collection of short stories explores the broader Halo universe, taking readers from the time of the ancient Forerunners to the 26th-century conflict between the United Nations Space Command and the Banished.
This first book contains thirty short stories, featuring twenty-four adventures originally published online and ten brand-new stories you won’t find anywhere else. It also includes lots of extra background information and short scenes connected to the game Halo Infinite.
You can now pre-order Volume 1 in paperback for $22 from Simon & Schuster, Barnes & Noble, and other retailers. It’s scheduled to ship next Tuesday, after a slight delay from its original release date in March. While there’s no news yet about future volumes of Waypoint Chronicles, several anthology collections are planned to continue the series.
This anthology gathers a huge collection of short stories – over 600 pages worth – set within the Halo universe. It’s a fantastic read for dedicated Halo fans and will definitely keep them entertained while they wait for news or the release of the next Halo game.
Currently, Halo: Campaign Evolved is expected to come out in 2026, but Halo Studios hasn’t announced a firm release date. However, the website PlayStation Universe reports a possible launch in late July, based on information from a leaker known as grunt.api. This leaker is generally considered reliable within the Halo community, and fans are eagerly awaiting an official announcement in the next few weeks.
