Emily Atack told ‘you can’t have favourites’ while hosting ITV’s “fiendish” new show Nobody’s Fool

Emily Atack has talked about how challenging it was to host the new gameshow, Nobody’s Fool. She stars alongside Danny Dyer in the tricky quiz show, which isn’t about general knowledge – it tests how others perceive the players’ intelligence.

On the ITV show, contestants answer questions privately and then decide amongst themselves who they believe is the least strong player, ultimately voting to eliminate that person.

Before the show debuted on Saturday, May 23rd, Emily Atack shared how challenging it was to stay objective while filming, as she found herself getting caught up in the contestants and their strategies.

I constantly needed someone whispering reminders, telling me, ‘Emily, don’t show preference – you can’t play favourites or give anything away,’

I don’t really have favorite characters, but I did feel a connection with a young girl named Ella. I naturally wanted to support the characters, but the story doesn’t let you take sides.

I definitely got choked up at the end. I struggle with keeping my emotions in check, and it’s pretty obvious when I’m feeling vulnerable.

However, Dyer didn’t face the same problem, explaining that he understood his job was to avoid getting involved, which helped him stay on the sidelines.

It was difficult not to react when some people exaggerated how well they were doing. I just focused on maintaining my composure and playing my role.

The new season of the Disney+ drama Rivals brings together stars Caroline Atack and Danny Dyer, who both appear in the show.

Emily Atack shared that she and Danny Dyer have a strong friendship, having become close while working together on the show Rivals.

When I gave birth, my partner was right there with me, which meant he quickly became close with my family. We all enjoyed wonderful dinners together. My partner, Danny, has a knack for making everyone laugh – he’s funny all the time, even when he’s not in the best mood!

He’s a really dedicated person, and family is incredibly important to him – something we definitely connect over, as we both work hard for ours. It meant a lot to him to meet my family and see what being a mom is like for me, and we learned a lot about each other. I truly cherished that experience.

Dyer recounted an experience from the set of Rivals, sharing it when asked if he’d ever been dishonest to secure a job.

He revealed that in the new season of Rivals, viewers will see him both horseback riding and playing polo.

So, like a lot of actors, I’ve always said I could ride a horse – it’s just one of those skills you put on your resume hoping it’ll come up. Well, the other day, it actually did! I finally had to actually ride a horse for a role.

“Thankfully my character is meant to be a bit sh*t at it, so we got away with it.”

Nobody’s Fool starts Saturday, 23 May, at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
