Nexon recently revealed exciting news about Project RX, the new RPG from the team behind Blue Archive. In their Q1 2026 earnings report, Nexon announced that the game will now be released on consoles in addition to PC and mobile devices.

Previously, people expected this game to be released only on mobile and PC. However, with consoles now confirmed, it seems Nexon is planning a larger, long-term project.

Project RX developers say the game aims to create a world players “want to live in”

Project RX is a game currently being developed by RX Studio, a part of Nexon Games’ IO Division – the team behind the popular game Blue Archive. While it was officially announced in 2024, the first glimpse of the game came in late 2025 with a teaser. This teaser showed a world featuring anime-style girls enjoying normal, everyday life, which then unexpectedly transitioned into exciting action-packed battles.

The creators of Project RX envision it as a game with a world players will genuinely enjoy calling home. The initial preview highlighted this inviting atmosphere, showcasing characters engaged in everyday, comforting activities like reading, cooking, and relaxing under cherry blossom trees, all while enjoying each other’s company.

The preview showcased impressive character abilities, intriguing enemies with a mystical feel, and fast-paced action, dramatically changing the overall mood. The developers have deliberately kept details of the combat system under wraps, promising to reveal more later.

People are excited about this project due to the skilled team working on it. Project RX is being created with the powerful Unreal Engine 5, and is led by Cha Min-seo (Producer) and Yutoka Mizu (Art Director) – both previously known for their work on the popular game, Blue Archive.

I was so excited to read in a Nexon report from December 2025 that they were actually playing RX internally! They even did a playtest back in September, and the producer said it went surprisingly well – apparently, it wasn’t bad at all! It’s great to hear they’re making progress and actually getting hands-on experience with the game.

We still don’t have a timeframe for when Project RX will be released, and details about how it will play are still scarce. However, with official confirmation that it will support consoles, Nexon may be planning a larger launch than originally expected.
