Brendan Fraser’s WWII Movie Pressure Finally Premieres in 3 Weeks

Brendan Fraser has a new movie coming out next month. He plays General Dwight D. Eisenhower, a key figure in World War II who later served as the 34th President of the United States.

Focus Features will release the war film Pressure in theaters on May 29th. Anthony Maras directed and edited the film, and he also co-wrote the script with David Haig. The movie is adapted from Haig’s 2014 stage play of the same name. The cast includes Brendan Fraser, alongside Andrew Scott as James Stagg, and supporting actors Kerry Condon, Chris Messina, and Damian Lewis.

Pressure Is Set 72 Hours Before D-Day

I just finished watching “Pressure,” and let me tell you, it’s a gripping film. It focuses on the incredibly tense 72 hours leading up to D-Day. The story puts you right there with General Eisenhower and Captain Stagg as they wrestle with an unbelievably difficult decision: go forward with the massive, incredibly risky invasion, or potentially lose the war. It really highlights the weight of responsibility they carried during those crucial hours.

I’m so excited to see Brendan Fraser really back in the spotlight! After that incredible Oscar win for The Whale last year, he’s been taking on some great roles. He had a part in Killers of the Flower Moon and Brothers, but now he’s leading the new film Rental Family. It came out in November 2025, and everyone’s saying it’s fantastic – a really funny and moving movie! It’s wonderful to see him thriving again.

Brendan Fraser’s impressive comeback, affectionately called “the Brenaissance” by his supporters, is set to continue beyond his film Pressure. Before Pressure hits theaters, Fraser will appear in Diamond, a crime drama directed by Andy Garcia. Diamond will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19th, though it won’t be competing for any awards.

Brendan Fraser recently joined the cast of the science fiction thriller Starman. He’ll play a brilliant inventor who leads the first trip to Mars, pushing the boundaries of space exploration. However, the mission takes a dangerous turn when unexpected problems leave him stranded far from Earth. He’s then caught in a desperate fight against time, motivated not only to survive but also by a powerful love, according to the film’s description.

Brendan Fraser Is Returning to The Mummy Franchise

Brendan Fraser’s most anticipated project is likely the upcoming fourth Mummy movie from Universal. He’s set to reprise his role as Rick O’Connell, the popular action hero he last portrayed in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor back in 2008.

After Tomb of the Dragon Emperor came out, Universal Pictures started planning a fourth Mummy film, but eventually canceled it to make the 2017 reboot starring Tom Cruise. Development on a new Mummy movie began again in November 2025, and was officially announced in February 2026.

Brendan Fraser will return for the next Mummy movie, along with Rachel Weisz and John Hannah, who will reprise their roles as Evelyn and Jonathan Carnahan. The film will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence, with a screenplay by David Coggeshall.

Though the specifics of the story are still secret, Brendan Fraser recently shared that he’s been working hard to physically prepare for his role. He mentioned on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that he’s been getting in shape, joking about his age. Filming is scheduled to begin this summer.

As for Pressure, the war film arrives in theaters on May 29 from Focus Features.
