Hilary Duff stars on the cover of SI Swimsuit amid long-awaited music comeback

Hilary Duff is having a fantastic year! After a ten-year break from music, she released her album Luck… or Something in February and it’s been a hit with fans. Though she’s been in several TV shows, including Younger and How I Met Your Father, people were really hoping she’d make a return to recording music.

While working on the SI Swimsuit shoot, Hilary Duff talked about how her feelings towards her body have evolved. She explained that she now appreciates what her body has allowed her to experience and feels much happier because she’s stopped comparing herself to others.

Hilary Duff’s sixth studio album, titled Luck… or Something, comes after her 2015 release, Breathe In. Breathe Out. Many of us grew up watching Duff, who started her career with a role in the 1998 film Casper Meets Wendy and became famous as Lizzie McGuire on the Disney Channel (2001-2004) – she was a regular in our homes! She launched her music career alongside the show, releasing a Christmas album called Santa Claus Lane in 2002.

For those who came of age in the 2000s, Hilary Duff’s second album, Metamorphosis (released in 2003), was a defining moment. Hits like “So Yesterday” and “Come Clean” launched her into pop stardom while she was still starring on the Disney Channel. She also appeared in several popular films during that time, including Agent Cody Banks, Cheaper By the Dozen (and its sequel), A Cinderella Story, and The Lizzie McGuire Movie.

Hilary Duff said that starting a music career felt like a big gamble when she was young, and it really shaped who she was for a long time. She admitted it was difficult to pause her music, but she always planned to return when the time was right, as she told Vogue in November 2025 while promoting her song “Mature.”

Hilary Duff, now a mother of four, has connected with fans through all stages of her life. She shares one child with her ex-husband, Mike Comrie, and three younger children with her current husband, Matthew Koma. People continue to enjoy watching her evolve and embrace this new chapter in her life.
