TAG Heuer is celebrating its ongoing partnership with American open-wheel racing by releasing the Formula 1 Solargraph x Indy 500 watch. This is the 13th time the Swiss watch brand has created a special edition to commemorate the iconic race.

As a huge fan of the original Formula 1 watches from ’86, I’m really excited about this new one! It’s clearly inspired by the energy of the Indy 500, but they’ve updated it with some cool, modern light-powered technology. It’s a really wearable size at 38mm, with a tough sandblasted steel case and a bezel made from this cool material called TH-Polylight. It feels like they’ve made something that appeals to anyone who’s passionate about racing – whether they live and breathe it or just love the style!

The watch is full of details celebrating the Indy 500. It features a black dial and a caseback, both displaying the Indy 500 logo and a checkered pattern reminiscent of the famous “Yard of Bricks” finish line at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway – a landmark known by racing fans for decades.

The dial is designed for easy reading, featuring rhodium-plated markers with Super-LumiNova® for visibility, a red hand to indicate seconds, and a brown ring marking off 60-second intervals. Inside, the TH50-00 Solargraph movement is powered by light, providing up to ten months of use on a full charge, and the battery is expected to last around 15 years.

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph Indy 500 is now available for purchase on the brand’s website. This limited edition watch, of which only 1,110 will be made, costs $2,250.
