Cyberpunk 2077 Official New Release Has Gamers Losing Their Minds

Originally set within the larger Cyberpunk world, Cyberpunk 2077 became well-known thanks to the role-playing game developed by CD Projekt Red in 2020. While the game had a difficult launch, it was improved with updates, and the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion essentially relaunched it as a significantly better experience, which proved very successful.

Since its release, Cyberpunk 2077 has expanded into various forms of media. This includes comics, several tabletop games, and the incredibly popular anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners created by Studio Trigger, which has recently been renewed for more episodes. Despite being released six years ago, new projects based on the game continue to emerge.

CD Projekt Red released a new update for Cyberpunk 2077 this week, and it’s receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback. Players on X (formerly Twitter) are especially excited, as this update was highly requested by the game’s community.

CD Projekt Red is releasing an official tarot card deck later this year. The deck will include all 78 cards – both Major and Minor Arcana – and a guidebook to help you interpret them, similar to how the character Misty Olszewski does in the game.

The product is scheduled for release in Fall 2026 and will be available in the US, Italy, France, Spain, and Germany. It’s being developed with Panini Comics and both the guidebook and the cards will feature full artwork.

Fans are excited about the new Cyberpunk tarot cards, with one jokingly saying they bought a tarot deck because of the game, only to have the official cards released afterward! Another fan praised the game’s accurate and thoughtful use of tarot, saying they’ll definitely be purchasing the new deck.

The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, with one CD Projekt Red and Tarot enthusiast saying it’s a “must buy.” However, others are hoping the developers prioritize more downloadable content for the game before moving on to a sequel. Many are eager for a second DLC, and one fan even mentioned they were planning to create their own Tarot deck based on the in-game cards.

Since Cyberpunk 2077 features Tarot cards directly within the game and its expansion, creating an official deck was a natural move. Fans have been requesting one for a long time, so the overwhelmingly positive response isn’t surprising.

Despite being out for a while, there’s only been one major Cyberpunk 2077 game so far. It’s exciting to think about what CD Projekt Red will create next, particularly if they move beyond the well-known Night City.
