As a huge Diablo Immortal fan, I was so excited to hear about the new collaboration with StarCraft! It’s called ‘Aeon of Stars,’ and it sounds amazing. From May 13th to June 10th, 2026, we’ll get a limited-time event with new boss battles, dungeons that change things up, cool little companions, and tons of rewards. I can’t wait to jump in!
The Swarm invades Sanctuary with new gameplay modes in Diablo Immortal
The Aeon of Stars event changes the usual game locations into areas overrun by the Zerg, with challenging dungeon variations and big battles reminiscent of StarCraft. You’ll encounter twisted enemies and experience unique crossover events.
A unique crossover event is happening in Sanctuary! The Swarm has arrived, bringing with it a powerful new Legendary Gem. This gem unleashes the Zerg’s devastating power, exploding enemy formations with both powerful blasts and corrosive acid. The landscape itself is changing as the battle begins…

Here are the main gameplay additions that you can look forward to:
- Infested Rifts filled with Zerg enemies.
- Dark Ascension dungeon with intense psionic attacks.
- Conqueror mode based on StarCraft factions.
- Weekly faction leaderboards.
When Infested Rifts appear, you’ll encounter the challenging Feral Hydralisk boss and can use Psionic Storms to harm enemies within the rift. I’m really looking forward to fighting the boss, but actually winning will be tough!
Fight the Tal’Darim and earn crossover rewards
The new Aeon of Stars event brings challenging boss fights to Diablo Immortal, featuring enemies from the StarCraft universe. During the event, you’ll be able to team up with four other players to battle foes like Tal’Darim Templar and Ascended Archons.
And the Aeons of Stars event will come with four weeks of reward cycle, bringing:
- StarCraft-themed Avatar Frame.
- Baneboil 2-Star Legendary Gem.
- Queen of Blades Kerrigan-inspired Weapon Transmog.
You can advance through the Koprulu Arsenal reward system by doing activities, beating enemies, and finishing event dungeons, which will earn you rewards like:
- Starcraft-inspired Portal and Stickers.
- Weapons Transmogs inspired by Kerrigan.
- Legendary Gear and Set Items with selectable affixes.
Diablo Immortal × StarCraft collab: New Legendary Gem
Similar to the DOOM collaboration, this event introduces a new Legendary Gem called the Baneboil, themed around the Zerg’s destructive power. Here’s a look at what it does:
- You can summon Banelings after dealing damage.
- By exploding enemies, you spread corrosive acid effects.
- Plus, enemies will take more damage over time.
- You can obtain it through the Dark Ascension dungeon.
Diablo Immortal × StarCraft collab: Cosmetics and Familiars
In addition to the new gameplay features and gem, this collaboration includes costumes and companion creatures themed around the world of StarCraft. Here’s a look at what’s been added:

- You can cop the Queen of Blades Phantom Market cosmetic set and become the Swarm Monarch.
- Immortal Familiar skin inspired by the Protoss.
- Zergling Familiar skin with powerful combat effects.
I’m really hoping to get the Zergling Familiar because of its cool look and the fact that it allows you to use skills on the go without having to wait for cooldowns.
Diablo Immortal × StarCraft collab: Special Conqueror mode
Similar to the Slayer’s Bane mode from the DOOM collaboration, this new mode offers a special take on Conqueror mode. You can choose from factions inspired by StarCraft, each with unique powers that you’ll earn throughout your matches. Here’s a look at what each faction can do:
- Stim Pack (Terran): This boosts your movement and attack speed.
- Poison (Zerg): This one adds poison projectiles to your attacks for a limited time to deal damage over time.
- Shields (Protoss): Lastly, with this one, you’ll gain a temporary protective barrier.
During each match, you’ll only see orbs that belong to the faction you’ve chosen. Plus, Conqueror mode will feature a weekly leaderboard based on faction performance.
Additionally, the devs are also introducing a permanent quality-of-life improvement.
- Everyone will now have access to all eight gear slots.
- And, if you don’t have the final two slots, the default gear will be automatically equipped in those slots.
