The new Batman release includes several classic villains from DC Comics, including a fresh, updated take on Poison Ivy. Batman’s villains are consistently ranked among the best in DC and the entire comic book world, and the character’s enduring popularity and depth certainly contribute to that.
Because Batman is such a complex and brooding character, his stories require villains who are equally compelling. This has resulted in a gallery of incredibly smart, terrifying, unpredictable, and dynamic foes for Bruce Wayne. Over the years, many of these villains have been brought to life in both live-action and animated Batman films and TV series.
Batman has a lot of well-known enemies, like the Joker, Harley Quinn, Bane, the Riddler, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, and the Penguin. Currently, it doesn’t look like Poison Ivy will be in the next Batman movie, The Batman — Part II—which recently shared a glimpse of its snowy set—or in the upcoming DC film The Brave and the Bold. That film seems like a good fit for Ra’s al Ghul, especially with the character Damian Wayne involved.
For those who enjoy the character Poison Ivy, the animated series Batwheels offers more of her story. Season 3 features a fresh, updated design for Poison Ivy, different from her traditional appearance. Surprisingly, Batman even lends her a hand in this 2026 release, and the show is planned to have additional episodes.
DC Has Revealed What Batwheels Season 3’s Poison Ivy Looks Like
Batwheels is a DC animated series featuring the Bat-Family – Batman, Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and others – but the show centers around their vehicles instead of the heroes themselves. Though popular characters like Batman (voiced by Ethan Hawke) appear and even participate in action-packed battles, the series, similar to the movie Cars, focuses on the adventures of the Bat-Family’s cars. A recent addition in season 3 was the iconic Tumbler from The Dark Knight films.
The third season of Batwheels premiered in December 2025 on HBO Max, and new episodes are coming on May 22nd, coinciding with the release of Batwheels season 3C. The ninth episode, titled “Batdraft,” features the return of Poison Ivy, who sports a striking new look: a red bob haircut with bright, glowing green highlights, a subtle reference to her traditional colors.
In season 3 of Batwheels, Poison Ivy wears a completely green suit, combining deep shades with the vibrant green of her hair. Unlike other versions of the character, her skin is white. In this series, Poison Ivy finds herself needing Batman’s assistance. Batman, along with the talking monster truck Buff and his dog Ace, uses his firefighting skills to extinguish a magical fire that breaks out at Poison Ivy’s hideout.
How Batwheels Season 3’s Poison Ivy Compares To Other Versions Of The DC Villain?
The way Poison Ivy’s hair is styled in the classic Batman TV series is reminiscent of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn’s pigtails. However, while Harley Quinn has blue and pink in her hair, Poison Ivy’s is bright green on both sides, which stands out against her red hair. The animated version of Poison Ivy looks quite different from Uma Thurman’s portrayal in the 1997 film Batman & Robin. In that movie, Poison Ivy wore a streamlined green outfit and had long red hair.
The latest season of Batwheels features a redesigned Poison Ivy with shorter, red and green hair and a suit covered in plant-like textures – a significant departure from her sleek, live-action look. As new Batwheels episodes become available on HBO Max, fans are curious if Poison Ivy will reappear and if she’ll have a similar updated design in the main Batman series.
