Avengers: Doomsday hailed as “magnificent” and will “defy all your expectations”

Okay, so I was super excited to hear that Tom Hiddleston – Loki himself! – is back in a Marvel movie for the first time since 2019. It’s Avengers: Doomsday, and honestly, with a cast that big, he thinks it’s going to be absolutely epic, and I totally agree!

The actor discussed the film in an interview with the Japanese magazine, The River.

So, Hiddleston was being super mysterious about the movie. He hinted that if he said too much, there’d be trouble for him, and he basically shut down any further questions about details. But, he was still totally enthusiastic about getting everyone excited for it, which was cool!

He promised that Avengers: Doomsday will be incredible and unlike anything viewers expect. He was particularly surprised himself when he first experienced the movie.

“I thought, ‘This is going to be extraordinary.'”

What to Read Next

Even though we haven’t seen Loki in a Marvel movie since Avengers: Endgame, he’s still felt like a big part of what’s been happening in the MCU. It’s cool how his story continues to influence everything, even when he’s not physically there!

I was totally hooked on Loki on Disney+! It was so cool seeing him deal with time travel and all these different universes. The show ended with Loki basically becoming in charge of everything – the Keeper of Time! He’s now watching over all the different universes and telling the TVA who needs help keeping things safe. It was an amazing arc for the character.

The show was originally created to set up Kang as the main villain in the planned Doomsday movie (previously known as The Kang Dynasty). However, issues with actor Jonathan Majors caused Marvel to change its plans.

Robert Downey Jr., best known as Iron Man, is now playing the villain Dr. Doom. This creates a compelling twist, as the heroes will be facing off against someone they once considered an ally.

So, I heard they’re re-releasing Endgame before Doomsday drops. Apparently, it’ll have some new footage tying into the Doomsday story, which they say will be super important for understanding the new movie. Basically, they want you to watch Endgame first to get the full picture!

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released on 18 December 2026.

The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! This 100-page, full-colour magazine celebrates the incredible Sir David Attenborough. You can find it at newsstands or order it online.
