Rust Mobile is getting closer to release, and is now scheduled to launch in China in July 2026. The game, which combines action and survival elements, will be available on a wide range of devices, including PCs, Android phones and tablets, iPhones and iPads, and devices running HarmonyOS.

Rust Mobile development has been ongoing since 2024, with multiple alpha and beta tests

The game was first spotted in early 2024 in China under the working title ‘Outpost,’ and later confirmed as the official mobile version of Rust in November. Since then, it’s gone through several testing phases – including an initial alpha test in Canada and beta tests limited to certain regions in China – and experienced a few setbacks as developers worked to make it more stable.

The mobile game plays much like the original Rust. You’ll begin with nothing on a challenging island and need to collect materials, make tools and equipment, and construct a base. Expect to encounter other players, some of whom might be hostile, and to engage in activities like raiding, managing your resources, and player-versus-player combat.

The game will also work on multiple platforms, which should be exciting. Having players on both mobile and PC share the same game world, as they plan for Rust, is a significant achievement. However, making sure the game runs well will be the biggest hurdle. It’s difficult to bring a demanding survival game like this to mobile devices without sacrificing too much of the original experience.

Right now, we’re concentrating on launching the game in China in July 2026, though that date isn’t final. After the China launch, we’ll have a clearer timeline for releasing it in other countries. You can sign up for updates and potentially early access by pre-registering on our official website.
