Genshin Impact brings Mondstadt to life with new themed area at Universal Beijing Resort

Story Highlights

  • Genshin Impact launches Mondstadt-themed area at Universal Beijing Resort.
  • The Operation Bang Bang! A Festive Celebration will be from March 20 to May 31, 2026.
  • Features locations like The Cat’s Tail with robo cats with food items inspired from the game.

Genshin Impact and Universal Beijing Resort have partnered up again to create an immersive, interactive area inspired by the game. Called “Operation Bang Bang! A Festive Celebration,” this new experience launched on March 20, 2026, and is themed around the in-game Ludi Harpastum festival.

If you’re familiar with Genshin Impact, this place feels a lot like the city of Mondstadt, but brought to life in the real world. The designers have carefully recreated the layout, objects, and even the little details from the game, aiming for a truly immersive experience that captures the same atmosphere.

Characters like Klee and Varka appear and interact with visitors

What’s really neat is how the game brings its characters to life. They aren’t just static images – several Genshin Impact characters roam the park and engage with guests in little performances, which the creators are calling ‘theatrical interactions’.

As you explore, you’ll also discover little stories unfolding around you. For instance, if you follow specific routes, you might overhear Klee and Fischl secretly planning a surprise for Varka, making the world feel more alive than just a static environment.

The Cat’s Tail tavern has been rebuilt, and instead of being empty, it now features robotic cats that act like the real thing. The food menu also aims to match the game, offering items like Mondstadt Hash Browns and Apple Cider.

Genshin Impact has partnered with Universal Beijing Resort before. Last year, from March to June, they created an immersive dining experience called “Banquet of Brilliant Blossoms”.

This year’s version offers a much more immersive experience with greater exploration, more ways to interact, and little stories woven throughout. You can visit until May 31st, 2026.
