I’m A Celebrity’s Adam Thomas breaks down in tears again as he gets his family message after David Haye ‘bullying row’ – and Scarlett Moffatt gets a surprising call from home

Adam Thomas, a contestant on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’, is expected to become emotional when he receives a message from his family on Thursday’s episode. This comes after a recent disagreement with boxer David Haye on the ITV show.

A former star of Waterloo Road is expected to get emotional when the celebrities receive surprise voice messages from their loved ones back home.

Tonight’s episode will show Scarlett Moffatt quickly answering the camp phone when it rings. An automated message will then tell her that the campmates have new voicemails to hear.

Craig Charles gets a heartwarming first call filled with voice notes from his wife and kids, and Mo Farah receives a similar message from his family.

Harry Redknapp received a touching voice message from his wife, Sandra, who expressed her love and encouraged him to continue making their family proud. His sons also sent messages of support.

Scarlett, 35, will get a heartfelt message from her fiancé and son. In a touching moment, her son Jude tells her he loves her for the very first time, which overwhelms Scarlett with emotion.

Adam, 37, will become overwhelmed with emotion when he receives a message and hears from his children. His wife will then share a heartfelt message of her own.

Overcome with emotion while hearing his family’s voices on the phone, the actor simply said, ‘It’s magical.’

This news follows a recent dispute between Adam and former boxer David Haye, where Adam shared he was seeking therapy due to the conflict they had on the show and became visibly upset while discussing it.

Adam and boxer David, 45, didn’t get along well while filming in the South African jungle last September.

I honestly can’t believe David! Seeing him attack Adam like that on TV was just awful. Calling him ‘useless’ because Adam had to prioritize his health and couldn’t participate in the trial? It felt like a straight-up bullying tactic, and I’m so upset about it. It’s just not okay, and everyone’s talking about how awful it was!

He attacked Adam again online Tuesday night, and Adam has since shared that he’s now in therapy as a result of their conflict on the reality show.

Adam shared with his brothers Scott and Ryan on their “At Home With The Thomas Bros” podcast that the disagreement really upset him.

Adam became emotional and explained that the experience felt like being back in school, facing a different kind of harassment. He clarified it wasn’t physical bullying, but rather a manipulative and psychologically damaging experience.

I regret not standing up for myself while I was in that situation. Thinking about it now, that regret bothered me even more than what actually happened.

Adam explained that he kept letting David mistreat him until he finally reached his limit. He said, ‘I just kept accepting it, and accepting it, until I felt like I was about to fall apart.’

He also mentioned that David had apologized, describing him to his brothers as a kind-hearted person. However, David later criticized Adam, even after offering the apology.

In a recent interview, the boxer intensified a previous dispute by calling his co-star ‘weak’ and comparing him to a ‘Chihuahua’, continuing a pattern of bullying behavior.

He described Adam as small and yappy, like a chihuahua, while comparing himself to a larger, more powerful dog like a doberman or pit bull. He believes Adam doesn’t need emotional support, but rather needs to build strength and assert himself among other strong men.

I don’t believe this qualifies as bullying. If someone is easily upset by a few comments, it suggests they might be overly sensitive or lacking resilience. It makes you wonder how strong they really are.

Adam, who used to be on Emmerdale, has psoriatic arthritis, an autoimmune condition. This made him feel very tired and dehydrated while filming in the jungle.

David maintained he was unaware of the situation and didn’t seem bothered by it, saying everyone has their own issues. He described Adam as being energetic and dancing, but noted that Adam now seemed upset by whatever the issue was and was staying in bed. David admitted to teasing Adam about it.

The boxer shared that since leaving the show, he’s been watching TikTok videos made by Adam and his brothers, Scott and Ryan, and described them as having ‘feminine’ qualities.

Oh my gosh, I was SO mad at David! Adam, who has this really tough arthritis thing, was clearly struggling last Friday, and he told everyone he couldn’t do the challenge. It was so brave of him to admit it, but then David just… sparked all this awful negativity from viewers! People started being mean online, and it was just horrible to watch. I mean, Adam’s dealing with a serious illness, and David somehow caused all this bullying! It was awful and totally unfair.

The boxer confronted him, saying he didn’t care that the man was unwell, stating he was an adult and shouldn’t be relying on others. He expressed his disapproval of people who he considered incapable or helpless.

‘I hate them useless guys. He is useless.’

Another argument erupted when the camp received a collective punishment because Adam brought in chocolate for his fellow campers. Adam then offered to skip dinner as a way to take responsibility.

David surprisingly asked for a smaller share than the others, seemingly upset that the group had been so supportive of him.

Adam was upset with David’s response to the amount of food he was given, and demanded to speak with him privately, saying, ‘Let’s go outside right now.’

As dessert arrived, David expressed his disappointment, saying they received much less than expected. Scarlett Moffatt quickly intervened, telling others to stop bothering him.

Ant and Dec, the hosts of I’m A Celebrity, admitted they felt uneasy about some of the conversations that took place on the show’s companion series, Unpacked.

Ant said: ‘It’s not a nice watch. He just kind of picks and picks at them.

Adam is really struggling and the constant teasing is overwhelming him. Unfortunately, David continues to push it, even though it’s upsetting Adam.

Dec agreed: ‘It’s kind of crossed the line from banter. I don’t find it comfortable to watch.’

Once he left camp, David explained his history with Adam, saying there were no hard feelings. He shared that he’d grown up in the demanding world of boxing, starting at age ten, and spent years training and fighting – often against larger opponents – pushing his physical and mental boundaries. He even became a world heavyweight champion, defeating a seven-foot-tall Russian fighter.

It seems strange when someone complains about a really enjoyable job – especially one where they’re well-compensated – being the most difficult experience of their life. It’s a perspective I just don’t understand.

‘I was actually on my best behaviour there, honestly.’

Just before the finale of I’m A Celebrity, Adam posted a photo to his fans featuring himself with his fellow female campmates: Scarlett Moffatt, Ashley Roberts, Sinitta, Gemma Collins, and Beverley Callard.

Alongside the shot, he penned: ‘I just want to say thank you to all these incredible women…

I just want to say, you’ve been incredible. Honestly, you’ve supported me more than you probably realize, especially when things were tough and uncertain. I’ve always considered myself a sensitive person with inner strength, and this whole journey really pushed me to my limits, but I knew I could count on you.

For months, I worried about how my actions would be seen by others. Despite being confident in my choices, I constantly wondered how everything would be presented and what people would think of me. That constant uncertainty was really difficult to deal with.

‘I was never in it to win. I just refused to let them win by breaking me…’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
