Pokémon Unite Typhlosion Movesets
Basic Attack
We will update these ability details when the Pokémon releases on April 24th, 2026.
Passive – Blaze
Typhlosion gets angrier as it battles, and this anger powers it up. Once its rage reaches its highest point, its Special Attack and moves become stronger, and those moves recharge faster. After reaching peak rage, it needs time to calm down before it can get angry again.
This Pokémon begins as Cindaquil and evolves into Quilava at levels 1 through 6. It then fully evolves into Typhlosion at level 7.
Ability 1 – Ember
This move lets the user shoot small flames at up to two opponent Pokémon. If used at its maximum range, it can hit up to three opponents and may burn them.
Ability Choice at Level 5
At Level 5, Typhlosion will be able to use the following ability:
Flame Wheel
Typhlosion surrounds itself with flames and rushes into battle, damaging any Pokémon it touches and preventing them from moving. It also gains a protective shield and its next attack is significantly strengthened.
When Typhlosion attacks, it leaps into the air and slams down, damaging the target and slowing down nearby opponents. If Typhlosion hits an enemy Pokémon while landing from this jump, that Pokémon will be knocked back.
Ability 2 – Tackle
Typhlosion attacks by rushing forward and colliding with the opponent, inflicting damage and slowing them down. It also gains a temporary shield during the attack.
Using this move powers up the user’s next attack. If used at maximum range, it also prevents the opposing Pokémon from acting on their next turn.
Ability Choice at Level 7
At Level 7, Typhlosion will be able to use the following ability:
Eruption
Typhlosion attacks by blasting flames into the air three times in a powerful burst. These flames then fall down, damaging nearby opponents. When Typhlosion is extremely angry, it launches even more flames with each attack.
Unite Move – Explosive Heat Haze
Typhlosion attacks by creating a powerful shock wave with its fiery fur, hitting and pushing back nearby opponents. After the initial blast, the area around it becomes covered in intense flames, continuously damaging any Pokémon caught within.
Typhlosion can disappear into intense flames, making it difficult to target for opponents outside the fire. This ability can really turn the tide of battle, particularly later in the game.

Pokémon Unite Typhlosion Gameplay Tips
This guide will teach you how to play Typhlosion effectively in Pokémon Unite and create a winning strategy. We’ll break down the game into early and late stages, so be sure to read the entire guide to learn everything you need to know.
Early Game
When playing Typhlosion, it’s best to choose the Jungle or Top Lane. Early in the game, focus on safely earning gold and applying pressure from a distance. Use your Ember ability to hit several enemies at once and inflict burn damage, particularly when they’re close together. Stay as far away from opponents as possible to consistently deal damage to multiple targets.
Use the Tackle move to quickly move around the battlefield, either by attacking enemies or getting away from them. It also provides a protective shield to help you survive. Because Typhlosion isn’t very durable, stay behind your teammates and avoid running too far ahead. This will allow you to activate your passive ability, Peak Rage, more often and increase your damage.
Mid and Late Game
When Ember reaches Level 5, it evolves into Flame Wheel, and Tackle becomes Eruption at Level 7. This combination is Typhlosion’s main attack strategy, providing speed, strong single-target damage, and the ability to control a wide area. Use Flame Wheel to quickly move in, damage an enemy, and gain a temporary shield, then follow up with Eruption to hit multiple opponents with a fiery blast.
Okay, so when I’m really going for it, my Eruption gets way more powerful with each flame, which is awesome in team fights or when we’re battling over objectives. And Typhlosion’s Unite move, “Explosive Heat Haze,” is a game-changer in those big late-game fights when everyone’s clumped together. It does a ton of damage, knocks enemies back, and leaves behind this burning zone that keeps hurting them – seriously, it’s a huge help for taking objectives!
When Typhlosion is engulfed in flames, it’s more difficult for opponents to target, significantly improving its survivability in battle. This lets it consistently deal damage without becoming the primary target, giving your team a considerable edge, particularly when fighting over important objectives like Goal Zones, Groudon, and Regieleki.
Positioning of Typhlosion
Typhlosion works best in the Top or Jungle lanes. This lets you quickly gather resources and move between lanes to support your teammates.
Typhlosion with other Pokémon
This guide to playing Typhlosion in Pokémon Unite also explains how Typhlosion compares to other Pokémon in the game.
Best synergies with Typhlosion
Typhlosion works best on teams with Pokémon that focus on defense or providing support, as these partners can offer crucial help and protection in tough battles.
| Pokémon | Benefits |
|---|---|
| Slowbro | Snorlax’s highly disruptive abilities alongside Typhlosion’s offensive attacks and abilities would be quite powerful working together. |
| Snorlax | Snorlax can provide extra crowd control and disables, for Typhlosion’s making it easier to dominate core team fights. |
| Articuno | The AOE Freezing/Slow debuffs from Articuno’s abilities will really combo well alongside Typhlosion’s Unite move. |
Pokémon that are strong and weak against Typhlosion
| Pokémon that Typhlosion counters | Pokémon that counter Typhlosion |
|---|---|
| Decidueye | Zoroark |
| Cinderace | Snorlax |
| Eldengoss | Talonflame |
| Cramorant | Zeraora |
| Gardevoir | Slowbro |
