The movie Disclosure Day is scheduled to hit theaters on June 12, 2026. A recent teaser trailer offers a first glimpse of the film’s aliens, showing a brief but unsettling image of an extraterrestrial hand reaching for a child. Director Spielberg is probably holding back the full alien reveal for the movie itself, meaning we likely won’t see much more of the invaders in future trailers before Disclosure Day comes out next summer. Invaders Have Arrived on Earth in Disclosure Day

The film Disclosure Day explores the scenario of undeniable proof that aliens have arrived on Earth. The story begins with a shocking event during a live weather report, where the meteorologist (Emily Blunt) unexpectedly starts speaking an unknown, seemingly alien language. Similar incidents quickly surface worldwide, revealing how the extraterrestrials are initially making contact. This isn’t a localized event; it quickly becomes clear that the entire world is affected.

David Koepp, known for his work on Jurassic Park, wrote the screenplay for Disclosure Day from an idea developed by Steven Spielberg. The film features Emily Blunt alongside Josh O’Connor (Sinners), Colin Firth (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Eve Hewson (Yellowjackets), Colman Domingo (Fear the Walking Dead), Wyatt Russell (Thunderbolts), Elizabeth Marvel (House of Cards), and Chavo Guerrero Jr. Legendary composer John Williams, who has collaborated with Spielberg twenty-nine times previously, is creating the film’s score.

Steven Spielberg Returns to Sci-Fi in Disclosure Day

Though Disclosure Day offers a fresh perspective, Steven Spielberg has a history of successful films exploring encounters with the unknown. This began with Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which depicted everyday people experiencing unusual UFO sightings. He followed that with E.T., a heartwarming story about an alien trying to return home with a boy’s help. Later, Spielberg presented a more intense vision of alien invasions with War of the Worlds, focusing on how people struggle to survive when society breaks down during an attack.

Disclosure Day will be released in movie theaters on Jun. 12, 2026.
