Madonna’s Coachella costume may just be LOST as cops say there is ‘no evidence’ it was stolen

Police now believe Madonna’s missing costume from her Coachella performance was likely just misplaced, not stolen.

After performing her hits “Vogue” and “Like a Prayer,” along with a new song, at a festival in Indio, California this past Friday, several vintage outfits went missing from the belongings of the 67-year-old performer. She shared the stage with headliner Sabrina Carpenter.

Madonna, with over 56 million followers on social media, shared on Instagram Monday that some of her vintage clothing had disappeared.

It’s not just a jacket, corset, or dress – these clothes represent my personal history. Other historical items from that same time period have also disappeared.

The singer is desperately hoping someone will find some lost belongings and contact her team at infomaverick2026@gmail.com. She’s offering a reward for their return and is incredibly grateful for any help.

According to the Indio Police Department, the items likely fell off a golf cart, and there’s no indication they were stolen on purpose.

A representative stated to TMZ that a report about a missing item was filed on Saturday, April 18, 2026, around 7:32 PM.

Police say the items were last spotted on a golf cart at the Empire Polo Grounds around 1:30 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026. This was during the second weekend of the Coachella music festival.

According to police, the bags containing the items likely fell from a golf cart driven by hotel staff. The staff were transporting the bags to a bus and didn’t realize they were missing until they arrived at the hotel.

The spokesman added that there is ‘no evidence to suggest the bags were intentionally stolen.’

TMZ has obtained a detailed list of the missing costume pieces, shared by law enforcement sources.

Madonna wore a purple leather Gucci bomber jacket and matching knee-high boots that she had originally worn to the 2005 MTV European Music Awards.

The collection also featured a lavender Moschino corset worth around $25,000, along with matching gloves, a slit-and-teddy outfit, thigh-high stockings, and purple trunks.

Considering she’s won seven Grammys and has a large team to help her – including a stylist, hairstylist, makeup artist, and three fashion assistants – it was unexpected to learn her costumes went missing backstage.
