Sam Raimi’s “entertaining and twisted” thriller Send Help lands UK streaming release date

Sam Raimi, the director known for the Spider-Man trilogy and Evil Dead, has announced when his new film, Send Help, will be available to stream in the UK.

Good news for my fellow gamers! You can already grab this movie digitally, but if you’re like me and love streaming, it’s hitting Disney+ on Thursday, May 7th!

I’m really excited about this new movie! It’s about a quiet office worker, played by Rachel McAdams, and her new boss, a totally spoiled rich kid – Dylan O’Brien – and somehow they end up shipwrecked on a deserted island together. It sounds like a hilarious and crazy adventure!

It’s so interesting to watch things change! She’s really come into her own out in the wild, while he’s totally struggling. But honestly, I’m starting to get the feeling she’s not telling him everything about what’s going on, and it’s making me wonder what she’s hiding.

Is he on the money, paranoid, or unable to accept that he’s not in control?

We loved the chemistry between our two lead actors, who were both incredibly funny. The movie also featured beautiful and memorable visuals thanks to Bill Pope’s work as cinematographer.

Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a very high rating: 93% of critics gave it a positive review, based on 282 reviews. Audiences also seem to love it, with 87% of over 2,500 viewers giving it a positive rating.

Little White Lies praised the film as a funny and delightful satire, calling it ‘an absolute hoot.’ They also highlighted director Sam Raimi’s skill in using camera work and movement to emphasize key moments and connect the audience with the characters’ feelings.

Okay, so TimeOut described this game as a seriously intense, mind-bending battle – imagine being stranded like in Cast Away, but with the psychological horror of Misery, the savage survival of Lord of the Flies, and all the wilderness skills of Bear Grylls thrown in! And Richard Roeper, a really well-known critic, thinks Rachel McAdams gives what could be the best performance of her entire career in it. Seriously, it sounds wild!

Send Help will be added to Disney+ on 7 May.
