Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent announces that she’s joining rival soap Hollyoaks in huge TV comeback

Brooke Vincent, known for her role on Coronation Street, is returning to television with a new part on the soap opera Hollyoaks.

The 33-year-old actress, famous for her role as Sophie Webster on ITV, shared the news with her 917,000 Instagram followers.

Brooke began playing Sophie, the youngest daughter of Kevin and Sally Webster, on the show in 2004 and continued in the role until 2019.

Now, after seven years away from soap land, the mum-of-two has landed a new role on the rival soap.

Brooke posted photos of herself at the Hollyoaks sign, announcing her excitement about joining the show and being part of a compelling new story.

I’m really excited to be acting again and playing a completely new role! Plus, my family is thrilled that I have a steady job now. It’s a win-win!

Plenty of her soap star pals rushed to the comments section to share the love.

Jennifer Metcalfe, known for her role as Mercedes McQueen on Hollyoaks, shared her excitement, writing, ‘Great news, you’re going to love it!’

Sally Dynevor, who played Brooke’s on-screen mother, congratulated her and said she’s sure Brooke will be amazing, just like she was on Coronation Street. She’s excited to watch her perform!

Hollyoaks’ Chelsee Healey, who plays Goldie McQueen, added: ‘Amazingggg B.’

EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa said: ‘Yay love this.’

Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach added: ‘eeeeekkkk so excited.’

And Hollyoaks star Nadine Mulkerrin said: ‘Yaaay.’

We don’t have many details about Brooke’s new persona yet, but expect to learn more soon.

Brooke’s role on Coronation Street is arguably what she is most well-known for.

While working on Coronation Street, she took time off several times to pursue other opportunities, such as appearing in the play Be My Baby and competing on Dancing On Ice.

After having my son, Mexx, in 2019, I decided to embrace motherhood fully and didn’t go back to working on the soap opera. It felt like the right time for a new chapter!

Her first role since becoming a mum was Amy in the UK stage tour of The Syndicate in May last year.

Brooke is also a proud mum to Monroe SJ Bryan who she welcomed into the world in May 2021.

She shares her two sons with footballer Kean Bryan.

In 2024, Brooke appeared on the ITV reality show Drama Queens, which offered a glimpse into the everyday lives of actors from popular British soap operas like Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks.

Lucy Fallon, Jamelia, Ellie Leach, Laura Norton, Jorgie Porter, Roxy Shahidi, Rita Simons, and Amy Walsh appeared alongside her on television.

She’s also appeared as herself on several TV shows over the years, including Tricked, I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp, Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, Blankety Blank, Celebrity Catchphrase, and Dancing On Ice.
