Jack Whitehall’s mum and dad reveal son’s friend James Corden’s irritated reaction after they didn’t heap praise on his play

Hilary Whitehall, Jack Whitehall’s mother, shared a story about an encounter she had with her son’s friend, James Corden.

Jack, age 37, married his model girlfriend, Roxy Horner, 34, on Saturday. The wedding was attended by many famous guests, including his colleague James from the show A League Of Their Own.

Hilary, who is 64 years old, recently shared a story about an uncomfortable encounter she had with a friend of her son, James, 47, in 2011.

Hilary shared the story on her and her husband Michael’s podcast, The Wittering Whitehalls, explaining that it all started when they purchased a house from their son Lulu. Michael is 85 years old.

She explained to her confused husband that Lulu’s son had previously owned the house. They’d actually bought it from him – Jordan Frieda – and the very next day, they’d gone to see James Corden perform in ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’.

After the show, Lulu was the only other person in the dressing room. I introduced myself, saying, “Hi, you probably don’t recognize me, I’m Hilary Whitehall, Jack Whitehall’s mother. We were watching your son perform, and it’s a strange coincidence, but we’ve just bought his house.”

She exclaimed, shocked and upset that the house had been sold, saying she loved it. However, she quickly added that she was glad it was going to new owners who would take good care of it, and continued talking at length.

After discussing the house for twenty minutes, James Corden jokingly asked if they could finally talk about the play he’d just performed in for two and a half hours.

‘James wasn’t at all pleased,’ chipped in Michael. 

Jack, the son of Michael and Hilary, got married at the historic Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds on Saturday. Many famous faces attended the wedding.

Just before his wedding, Jack had a memorable stag do with his friend James. He jokingly thanked the Daily Mail for helping him remember the details of the fun, but somewhat hazy, night.

Jack, James and their pals stopped off at a mini-golf bar called Swingers and visited a racy club.

The comedian and actor elaborated on some of the ‘unwise’ antics to Chris Moyles on Radio X.

He admitted to starting to drink Guinness at 11 in the morning and having a somewhat hazy memory, but maintained that the celebration wasn’t very wild.

He described the day as fairly calm and uneventful. He admitted to starting with a Guinness around 11 AM, which he acknowledged wasn’t a good idea, and confessed to having a somewhat fragmented memory of the evening.

Fortunately, the Daily Mail published a detailed account of everything I did the night before, so I woke up and could read exactly how the evening unfolded.

For Saturday’s fun, Jack started a six-hour pub crawl in Soho dressed in a golden crown, a Tottenham Hotspur shirt, and a cape. He said he was made to wear the outfit for the occasion.

James Corden’s bachelor party included Jamie Redknapp and former rugby player Lawrence Dallaglio. Both James, 47, and Jamie, 52, had worked with the comedian for many years on the Sky panel show, A League Of Their Own.
