Kylie Minogue First Look: Singer to star in three-part Netflix  documentary in which she will discuss public scrutiny, personal loss and illness

Netflix has dropped a first look image of Kylie Minogue’s upcoming ‘intimate’ documentary KYLIE.

News first surfaced in June 2024 that the 57-year-old Australian singer had agreed to a multi-million dollar deal with a streaming service to create a documentary offering an intimate look into their life.

A recent preview shows Kylie smiling at the camera while wearing a white sweater and purple scarf.

In a new three-part series, she will talk about dealing with public attention, overcoming personal hardships like loss and illness, and how she’s gained admiration from people beyond her dedicated fanbase.

Kylie Minogue fans will be excited to learn that the new documentary features personal footage and insights into her life, showcasing how she’s captivated, inspired, and provided the soundtrack for generations.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited about this new documentary! It’s going to be amazing – they’re including personal home movies and photos, giving us a really intimate look. It feels like we’re getting a peek behind the scenes and into their lives, and I can’t wait to see it all.

And of course, there will be interviews with Kylie herself.

Kylie won’t be the only well-known personality on the show. Her sister Dannii, Jason Donovan, Nick Cave, and Pete Waterman – all established names – will also be appearing.

Michael Harter directed the documentary, and John Battsek produced it with Ventureland.

The documentary ‘KYLIE’ tells the story of a legendary pop star who has continually reinvented her music and sold more than 80 million records worldwide, according to a recent announcement.

Last month, The Mail on Sunday reported that the singer will discuss her relationship with the late Michael Hutchence of INXS in an upcoming episode of her Netflix show.

The pair previously dated between 1989 to 1991.  Michael passed away aged 37 in November 1997.

Reports surfaced in June 2024 that Kylie had been in a months-long competition with major streaming services, with each vying to secure a deal.

Despite competition from Apple+ and Disney, Netflix was able to begin filming the project later that year.

According to a source who spoke with The Mirror, there was intense competition to acquire the rights to Kylie Minogue’s life story. The source highlighted her remarkable career, starting with her role on ‘Neighbours’ and continuing with her enduring success as a pop star who still tops the charts after decades.

‘She has a massive fan-base so there’s no question it will attract a huge audience.

‘That’s why the offers went so high – everyone’s very excited.’

Kylie first found fame in 1986 when she joined the cast of Neighbours as Charlene Mitchell.

Following her time on the show Neighbours, she rose to fame as the ‘Princess of Pop’ and sold over 80 million records worldwide.

I’ve been a huge fan for years, and it’s amazing to see everything she’s accomplished! She’s put out sixteen albums now, and seven of them actually hit number one – including last year’s ‘Tension,’ which gave us the incredibly catchy ‘Padam Padam.’

After the popularity of her album, Tension, Kylie launched her first concert residency at Voltaire, inside The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.
