Thomas and Clarette, who became a popular couple on the show Farmer Wants A Wife, have ended their relationship after a year together. They first connected on the Channel Seven dating series.

Although they haven’t officially announced their breakup, hints on social media suggest the 36-year-old wheat farmer from South Australia and his 36-year-old school teacher partner separated some time in the past.

After going public with their relationship last year, Farmer Thomas added Clarette’s name and a heart emoji to his Instagram profile.

However, they have now been scrubbed from his social media, and Clarette is now completely absent.

Perhaps most significantly, a recent school newsletter from the remote Eyre Peninsula, where Clarette worked close to Thomas’ farm, has confirmed her resignation.

I was so sad to read in the school newsletter that we’re saying goodbye to Ms. Goodhead, our English teacher. She started with us at the beginning of 2025, and honestly, she’ll be missed by absolutely everyone – the students, the staff, and even people outside of school who got to know her. It’s a real loss!

A source told Woman’s Day that the couple had been having problems and split up a while ago.

‘It hasn’t been as perfect as it seemed,’ they told the publication. 

Meanwhile, heartbroken fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the split.

Their lives were quite different. Thomas was always at the farm, while Clarette frequently traveled and was often away from home, according to one observer.

Someone else pointed out that Clarette had been posting a lot of pictures of herself alone in different places, playfully calling her a ‘fly-in, fly-out wife’ – a reference to the work arrangement where people travel for work and then return home.

Viewers of ‘Find Your Way to Wellness’ will likely be surprised by this news, especially since Thomas recently completed his journey to find love on the show last year.

The farmer publicly declared his feelings for school teacher Clarette.

Thomas knew Clarette was the woman he wanted, so he spoke with Rachael and Jess individually to share the news that he’d fallen in love with her.

Both ladies wished him well before leaving the farm together.

Thomas took a big step and left Clarette a handwritten note, asking her to meet him at sunset to talk about something important.

Encircled by candles, Thomas locked eyes on Clarette and smiled as she walked towards him.

The pair held hands before a nervous Thomas took a long, slow breath to steady himself.

You know, I’ve been thinking about how special first connections can be. I remember when I first met Clarette – it was instant. She walked into the room, and honestly, I couldn’t look away. He admitted they’d faced challenges, but said they’d overcome them together, and then told Clarette she looked beautiful.

Thomas complimented Clarette, telling her she would be a wonderful wife and mother, and then finally said what she’d been hoping for.

‘Clarette, I love you,’ he declared in the moving moment. 

Wiping away tears, an emotional Clarette responded, ‘I love you too, it’s official!’
