Talk about a crime of fashion.
Madonna announced on social media Monday that the purple jacket, corset, and dress she wore during her surprise Coachella performance with Sabrina Carpenter on Friday have gone missing.
She said it was amazing to perform ‘Confessions II’ in the same place where it all started. The experience felt especially meaningful until she realized some of the vintage clothes she wore during the performance were missing. She explained that the clothes weren’t just outfits, but important pieces of her personal history.
These clothes are vintage pieces from Madonna’s “Confessions on a Dance Floor” era in the early 2000s. She’s releasing a follow-up album, “Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II,” on July 3rd, as a continuation of her 2005 record. She previously wore a similar purple outfit when she performed at Coachella’s Sahara Tent two decades ago.
During Carpenter’s headlining set at Coachella, Madonna made a surprise appearance. She rose from under the stage while Carpenter was singing “Juno” and then joined her for a performance of Madonna’s classic hit, “Vogue.” Madonna also debuted a new, unreleased song called “Bring Your Love,” and performed her songs “Get Together” and “Like a Prayer.”
Music
Madonna unexpectedly appeared on stage with Sabrina Carpenter during the “Juno” concert, where she performed her hits “Vogue” and “Like a Prayer,” as well as a newer song.
She expressed hope that someone would find the lost items and contact her team, and offered a reward for their return, sharing an email address for her representatives.
According to a statement released by the Indio Police Department on Tuesday, there’s currently no indication that the bags were stolen on purpose.
So, here’s the scoop: the singer reported some things missing – clothes and jewelry, to be specific – on Saturday evening, around 7 p.m. Apparently, they were last seen earlier that day, around 1:30 a.m., left on a golf cart over at the Empire Polo Grounds. It’s a bit of a strange detail, leaving valuables on a golf cart, but that’s what the report says!
According to an initial review, the bags with the lost items likely fell from a golf cart driven by staff members who were transporting them to a bus. The staff noticed the bags were missing when they arrived at the hotel soon after.
If you’ve seen the bags, please contact the Indio Police at 760-391-4057 or Crime Stoppers at 760-341-STOP. You can report information to Crime Stoppers anonymously.
