Batman Caped Crusader Season 2: All 12 DC Characters Now Expected to Appear

Season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader brings back beloved DC characters and introduces exciting new villains. This season features a particularly wild Joker who will truly challenge Batman. Continuing the story from Season 1, the new episodes will delve into the consequences of major events like Harvey Dent’s death and Batman almost breaking his rule against killing.

Season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader will heavily feature the growing influence of Rupert Thorne, building towards a major showdown between the crime lord and Batman in Gotham’s criminal world. The season will also include well-known characters like Jim Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth, and Selina Kyle, providing Batman with crucial support as he works to protect the city.

Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 is expected to premiere on Prime Video later this year.

Every DC Character Expected to Appear in Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2

Batman/Bruce Wayne

When Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 comes back to Prime Video, Batman (voiced by Hamish Linklater) will be dealing with a lot of challenges.

After the heartbreaking death of Harvey Dent at the end of Season 1, Batman struggled with his anger and nearly attacked Detective Flass, who had shot Dent. This internal conflict will likely continue into Season 2, with even more dangerous enemies, including the Joker, emerging to challenge him.

Season 2 will focus on the escalating conflict between Batman and Rupert Thorne. Since Season 1 revealed Thorne is shielded by corruption within Gotham, Season 2 will explore a broader battle against both organized crime and the corrupt officials protecting it.

Alfred Pennyworth

Alfred Pennyworth will be back in Season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader, continuing his role as Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler and Batman’s most trusted confidant during times of trouble.

In the show’s second season, Alfred will likely continue to be Batman’s guiding force, keeping him from falling into despair and reminding him to be a symbol of hope in the troubled city of Gotham.

James Gordon

Commissioner James Gordon doesn’t necessarily approve of Batman’s methods, but he has to work with him. Together, they’re Gotham’s best hope for stopping criminals and the deep-rooted corruption that has plagued the city for years.

The GCPD Commissioner is nearing his limit. His daughter, Barbara, was almost caught in the violence, and this has forced him to truly see how much corruption exists within his police department. He’s now questioning if he can still make a difference by trying to fix things from the inside.

Barbara Gordon

In Batman: Caped Crusader, Barbara Gordon is a key character, working as a highly skilled lawyer in Gotham City and spearheading the effort to combat widespread corruption.

Barbara faced serious danger, but comic book fans know she’s destined for great things as a crime fighter. Her growing bond with Batman might lead her to become Batgirl, possibly as early as next season.

Selina Kyle / Catwoman

In the first season of Batman: Caped Crusader, Selina Kyle’s story is fascinating. It begins with her as a wealthy socialite, but her life takes a dramatic turn when she impulsively decides to become Catwoman and starts stealing jewels from Gotham’s most prominent museums.

The first season showed a strong romantic connection between Batman and Catwoman, but Selina ended up in jail. To make matters worse, her assistant, Greta, sold Selina’s mansion and kept all the money as compensation for unpaid wages, leaving Selina with nothing.

In Season 2, Selina might use her persuasive skills to negotiate her release from prison. This could lead to a reunion with Batman, and she’d likely pursue revenge against Greta.

Renee Montoya

After demonstrating her value in the final showdown, Renee Montoya is expected to remain a trusted ally to Batman and Commissioner Gordon as they continue their battle against corruption in Gotham.

Renee Montoya earned Batman’s confidence by rescuing him from Clayface. A particularly interesting storyline for her in a potential second season is her developing romance with Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a relationship she began without knowing Dr. Quinzel is actually Harley Quinn.

Lucius Fox

In most Batman stories, Lucius Fox is depicted as a technology expert. However, the Lucius Fox in Batman: Caped Crusader is Bruce Wayne’s lawyer and trusted advisor, handling his legal and business affairs.

The show’s second season will likely keep focusing on Bruce Wayne’s personal life, alongside his ongoing battle as Batman to clean up Gotham City.

Harleen Quinzel

Harley Quinn, also known as Harleen Quinzel, will be back in Season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader. She’s a dark reflection of Batman, driven to increasingly violent methods while trying to help her patients, which ultimately leads to her transformation into Harley Quinn.

Even so, she surprisingly demonstrates a moral side by helping her girlfriend, Barbara Gordon, after an explosion, and even considers saving Batman later in the story.

With Joker expected to appear in Season 2, it looks like Harley Quinn might lose what little sense of right and wrong she has left, as they’re likely to team up soon.

Rupert Thorne

In Batman: Caped Crusader, Rupert Thorne is the main villain – Gotham’s most powerful crime boss – and his danger lies in his ability to operate above the law, making him seemingly untouchable.

With many GCPD officers working for him and Mayor Jessup under his control, bringing him down won’t be easy. However, at the end of Season 1, Batman vowed to do whatever it takes to finally defeat him.

Joker

The Joker made a brief appearance at the end of Batman: Caped Crusader Season 1, hinting that he’ll be Batman’s next major enemy following Rupert Thorne.

This Joker is significantly more threatening than previous iterations. While others have been portrayed as mischievous or simply chaotic, this version is truly dangerous and unstable, proven by his willingness to kill people – even using innocent individuals as test subjects for his laughing gas – as shown in the story’s conclusion.

Harvey Bullock

In the first season of Batman: Caped Crusader, Harvey Bullock was a main antagonist. He was revealed to be a former, corrupt detective working for Rupert Thorne, and teamed up with Arnold Flass to help Thorne maintain control of Gotham’s criminal world.

Batman captured him at the end of last season, but thanks to Thorne’s connections, he might be released from prison when the new season begins.

Arnold Flass

Arnold Flass will likely be back in Batman: Caped Crusader. The detective who shot Harvey Dent will have to answer for what he did, and face the repercussions of his crime.

After nearly being killed by Batman, Flass will probably be haunted by the experience. However, Thorne might be able to help him get released from prison. Plus, because Flass also threatened Barbara Gordon, we could see a confrontation between him and Commissioner Gordon in the next season.

BONUS: Oswalda Cobblepot / Penguin

The first season of Batman: Caped Crusader reimagined the Penguin as a woman, introducing the character Oswalda Cobblepot.

The show made it clear that Penguin and Rupert Thorne are competing for control of Gotham’s criminal world. Because Batman and Penguin both oppose Thorne, they might temporarily team up to take him down for good.

Since Batman refuses to kill, Penguin might be the one who finally stops Thorne for good.
