Adam Hyde is touring around Australia and beyond – and he’s not above taking the train.
The musician is touring with Peking Duk, the electronic music duo he performs in with Reuben Styles, as part of their Thrills Tour.
Last week, the 35-year-old shared that he chose to take public transportation to a recent festival because gas prices are so high.
A video posted on Peking Duk’s Instagram last week showed the high cost of gas – $2.40 per gallon – alongside the fact that they were scheduled to perform at a festival.
The clip showed Adam and Reuben riding the subway before stepping onto the stage to perform a set.
Fans praised the band for being considerate and mindful of the ongoing fuel crisis in Australia.
‘Model citizens. Leading by example in all areas of life. Killing it,’ wrote one person.
One person pointed out that public transportation is generally more efficient, and another playfully admitted the post made them like the group even more.
Adam appears to have regained public support after deciding not to perform at the controversial horse racing event he was scheduled to appear at in February.
Peking Duk’s lead singer, known as Keli Holiday, was scheduled to perform on April 4th, the first day of the Royal Randwick Championships, according to The Australian Turf Club.
After a lot of criticism, The Australian Turf Club announced that Hyde had cancelled his appearance at the event.

Keli Holiday will no longer be performing. We’ll share any important updates about the event as they become available.
Musician Hyde and his girlfriend, media personality Abbie Chatfield, faced criticism for appearing hypocritical. Hyde agreed to perform at a prominent horse racing event, even though Chatfield has publicly spoken out against the practice.
News of the performance came as a shock to both horse racing enthusiasts and animal welfare advocates. This is because Chatfield, age 30, recently criticized celebrities for attending Derby Day at the Melbourne Cup Carnival in November 2022.
The podcaster, who previously appeared on The Bachelor, said she turned down a large sum of money to attend a horse racing event.
‘Yeah, I was offered money to go. A lot of money, I said f*** the races,’ she said.
Fans were largely confused and disappointed to learn Hyde would be performing at Randwick.
Someone commented that while they generally support Australian artists and people with diverse political views, they find it a little insensitive that this particular person and their partner are so vocal about horse racing during a time when many are facing hardship.
‘Shows how hypocritical the anti-racing mob can be really?!’ a second said.
‘Guess we’re not that done with the races,’ a third commented.
Animal rights activists also called out the high-profile couple.
