With excitement building for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, a recent addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has confirmed their return. Rumors have long suggested the film will introduce the Young Avengers, and a new casting announcement seems to support that idea. The hero, who first appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, is set to reappear in Doomsday, bringing one of Earth’s newest and tiniest protectors back into the action.
Kathryn Newton confirmed in a video on her X account that she’ll be returning as Cassie Lang in Avengers: Doomsday. Her brief appearance in yesterday’s CinemaCon trailer was a surprise, as she hadn’t been previously announced as part of the cast back in early 2025. Marvel Studios has since given her a specially-sized chair with her name on it. Newton’s addition to Doomsday—which also stars Paul Rudd as her on-screen father, Scott Lang—is a great one.
