Lena Dunham claims Adam Driver threw chair and punched hole through a wall in meltdowns on Girls set

Lena Dunham has made explosive claims about her Girls co-star Adam Driver in her shock new memoir.

Oh my god, I’ve been following this actress for years, and it’s just heartbreaking to hear what she’s saying about him! Apparently, when they were working on that HBO show, he was… well, he was terrifying! She claims he actually threw a chair at a wall right next to her, and then punched a hole in the wall of his trailer! Can you believe it? And he was screaming at her, right in her face! It’s just… awful. He’s 42 now, she’s 39, and I just can’t reconcile the guy she’s describing with the one everyone admires. It’s so disturbing.

Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Driver and Dunham and has yet to hear back.

Lena Dunham’s show featured a complex, recurring relationship between her character, Hannah Horvath, and Adam Sackler, played by Adam Driver. This on-again, off-again romance was a central part of the series, which ran from 2012 to 2017. Dunham was 25 and Driver was 28 when the show began.

In her upcoming memoir, Famesick, Lena Dunham alleges that Harrison Ford was extremely rude to her.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, she responded to the accusations against Driver, explaining that she didn’t feel empowered to assert her authority at the time. She said she simply wouldn’t have thought to tell him, ‘I’m in charge, and you can’t talk to me like that.’

When I was in my 20s, I oddly believed that truly brilliant men were supposed to tear you down. It’s strange, because I was actually raised by a very intelligent man who would never behave that way.

Dunham did go on to praise other male talent that she had a better relationship with.

I’m incredibly fortunate to have so many wonderful men supporting me. I really admire Judd Apatow, and Tim Bevan from Working Title is a significant presence in my life, as is cinematographer Sam Levy.

I recently worked with Mark Ruffalo, and he’s truly a wonderful person – kind, considerate, passionate about important issues, and genuinely lovely. It made me realize there are good people like him everywhere. But for a long time, I wondered if I could focus my work solely on stories about women.

This role is what first made Adam Driver a star, and it paved the way for his later success as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars movies.

Oh my gosh, can we talk about Adam Driver for a second? Seriously, the man is incredible! He’s been nominated for an Oscar twice! First for ‘BlacKkKlansman’ as a supporting actor back in 2019, and then for ‘Marriage Story’ in 2020 – a Best Actor nomination, which he SO deserved! I was completely blown away by both performances, honestly. It’s just… perfection.

Lena Dunham was the creator, writer, and star of the HBO series Girls, which ran from 2012 to 2017. The show received widespread praise and won many awards.

The show’s cast included Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, Alex Karpovsky, Andrew Rannells, Jake Lacy, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Dunham has since entered a creative partnership with streaming giant Netflix.

The streamer has acquired the global rights to “Good Sex,” a romantic comedy written and directed by the streamer herself, and starring Natalie Portman, for $55 million. The movie is expected to be released later this year.

The IMDB description says this show follows a therapist in her 40s who starts dating again in New York City. As she explores relationships with two very different men – one young and trendy, the other a successful man her own age – she begins to figure out what she truly desires in a partner.

In 2010 she directed and starred in the film Tiny Furniture.

Famesick: A Memoir is set for release on Tuesday, April 14.
