Similar to the story of Carrie, Wednesday centers around a strong female lead. However, Wednesday Addams doesn’t passively accept mistreatment like Carrie did at first. She’s sharp, blunt, and has a dark sense of humor. In this world, people with magical abilities are known as Outcasts, and they share a fragile peace with the human residents of Jericho.

Released in 2020, I Am Not Okay With This centers on Sydney Novak, a 17-year-old dealing with her father’s recent suicide, struggles at school, and complicated feelings for her best friend, Dina. Although The Midnight Club was originally planned for two seasons, it was canceled after only one. Despite this, the series is a short, engaging story that is both frightening and emotionally moving.
