Borderlands Mobile stuns with a surprise arrival as Take-Two’s looter shooter hits iOS under Zynga in the US

Suddenly, a new mobile game has arrived! And unlike a failed joke, this one is likely to be a hit. Borderlands Mobile, the newest action-packed shooter from Zynga, is now available on iOS devices as a limited release in the US.

This release was unexpected because Zynga didn’t announce it or offer any hints beforehand. They just launched it without warning. I did manage to find a support and FAQ page with more information, if you’re interested.

Borderlands Mobile looks at classic loot-driven gameplay with a wide variety of weapons

Returning to the familiar, unpredictable universe, this game plunges you into a galaxy spiraling into chaos. With the Calypso twins defeated and the Firehawk vanished, corporations are taking over, and it’s up to a new generation of Vault Hunters to restore order.

Based on what we’ve seen so far, the mobile game stays true to the spirit of Borderlands. Players will be able to find tons of different weapons – everything from pistols to rocket launchers – and each one has its own special stats and abilities.

You’ll frequently encounter enemies like Skags, bandits, and bosses as you play and try to advance. The game offers different mission types, including a story campaign and challenge modes like Tower of Terror and Circle of Slaughter. What really stands out is the game’s narration, which is still funny and unique.

Currently, the game is only available on iPhones and iPads in the United States, which means not everyone can play it yet. If you’re in the US and have an Apple device, you can find it on the App Store. We don’t have a release date for an Android version just yet, but it’s mentioned on the support page, so it might be coming soon.

I’m really hoping they’ll bring this to other regions and eventually worldwide, but they haven’t announced any plans for that yet. I’ll definitely keep checking back for updates, and I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything!
