Clash of Clans Town Hall 14 Guide: Best bases, Attacking Strategies, and more
2021 saw the arrival of Town Hall Level 14 in the popular game Clash of Clans, marking the penultimate level before Town Hall Levels 15 and 16. With so many decisions to make regarding upgrades, troop choices, and the sequence for unlocking new items, it’s no wonder that questions like these are frequently asked. To assist you, this guide will walk you through all the essential information about Town Hall 14 in Clash of Clans. This comprehensive CoC TH14 Guide features discussions on optimal base designs, attack tactics, and much more.
Upgrading Town Hall to level 14
When you’ve constructed every possible building within the Town Hall 13 and boosted your Town Hall Giga Inferno to level 5, those structures become ready for an upgrade to Clash of Clans TH14. However, it is highly recommended to enhance your defenses, troops, spells, and all essential units before proceeding with the upgrade process.

To bring your Town Hall to level 14, you’ll need a total of 15 million Gold. This process takes approximately 9 days to complete. Upon completion, the upgraded Town Hall will boast an enhanced durability of 8900 hit points. The storage capacities remain the same as those offered by Town Hall 13 and subsequent levels, holding up to:
– 2 Million Gold and Elixir
– 20,000 Dark Elixir
This upgrade will be available after reaching Town Hall level 11.
CoC Town Hall 14: New Unlocked Buildings, Troops, and More
As I leap forward to Town Hall 14 in Clash of Clans, a whole new world of possibilities unfolds! Here’s what awaits me post-upgrade: fresh levels for my buildings, defenses, traps, and more! Let the journey begin as I uncover these hidden gems in my upgraded town.
- 25x new Wall pieces
- 1x Air Bomb
- 1x Seeking Air Mine
- 1x Skeleton Trap
- 1x Bomb
- 1x Giant Bomb
Town Hall 14 also introduces two new buildings: Pet House and Battle Builder Huts.
New Upgrade: Battle Builder Huts
At Town Hall level 14, you gain the ability to enhance your Builders’ Huts into Battle Builder Huts, which not only aid in construction but also serve as defensive structures during an attack. When upgraded to Level 2, these enhanced Builders’ Huts are equipped with turrets that fire at nearby enemies.

Following the update, Builders will now have the ability to mend structures amidst battles, eliminating the need to head to the Town Hall. Equipped with arms, the Builder’s Hut functions as a defensive structure and may be attacked by troops such as Giants.
Level | Damage/Sec | Damage/Shot | Repair/Sec | Repair/Hit | Hitpoints |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
2 | 80 | 32 | 50 | 37.5 | 1,000 |
3 | 100 | 40 | 60 | 45 | 1,300 |
4 | 120 | 48 | 70 | 52.5 | 1,600 |
5 | 135 | 54 | 80 | 60 | 1,800 |
New Building: Pet House
![](https://i0.wp.com/gamingonphone.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/CoC-TH14-Pet-House.jpg)
As a gamer, I find the Pet House to be my go-to place for creating some cool new companions, or Pets, in this game. Each of my Heroes can have one of these pets assigned, and I can easily switch up their partners within the Pet House or Battle Preparation menu. During battles, these pets fight alongside their chosen Heroes, showcasing unique abilities and generally sticking close to them. In Clash of Clans TH14, I get to unlock four different types of pets!
L.A.S.S.I
The first pet in the Pet House becomes active once you’ve built it. It focuses on areas within approximately 2.5 tiles of its matched Hero. If the Hero is unable to act, the L.A.S.S.I functions like a standard troop, attacking the closest building or enemy unit nearby instead.
- Favorite Target: Within 2.5 tiles of Hero
- Damage Type: Ground
- Targets: Single Target
Electro Owl
As an avid gamer, I can’t help but be thrilled about the Electro Owl, my latest acquisition from Pet House’s level 2 selection. This little fella shares a striking resemblance with the Electro Dragon, especially when it unleashes its Chain Lightning ability. What sets this owl apart is that its Chain Lightning attack doesn’t just strike once, but rather, it targets two enemies simultaneously. The first one takes the full brunt of the damage, while the second one receives a whopping 80% less, making the Electro Owl a formidable force in my gaming world!
- Favorite Target: Hero’s Target
- Damage Type: Ranged (Ground and Air) Chain Lightning
- Targets: Single Target
Mighty Yak
At Pet House level 3, you’ll find the impressive Yak, nicknamed the “Mighty” for good reason. It boasts robust health and has the unique ability to deal twice as much damage (x20) to structures. Upon collision with a building, it delivers an impactful first blow, followed by another attack after approximately 1.6 seconds, before settling back into its usual attack rhythm of 2.1 seconds.
- Favorite Target: Within 7 tiles of Hero
- Damage Type: Ground
- Targets: Single Target
Unicorn
In Clash of Clans Town Hall Level 14, the Unicorn, which is the fourth pet obtainable at the Pet House level 4, offers healing akin to that of a Healer for its designated hero. However, unlike Healers, it can effectively heal both ground troops and air units.
- Favorite Target: Hero
- Damage Type: Ground and Air
- Targets: Single Target
New Troop: Electro Titan
![](https://i0.wp.com/gamingonphone.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Electro-Titan-cover.jpg)
At Town Hall 14, you’ll discover a fresh troop known as the Electro Titan. By upgrading your Barracks to Level 16, you can gain access to this unit. This short-range combatant is versatile, able to attack both ground and air targets. What sets it apart is the damaging aura it emits, causing harm to anything within its radius over time. This damage applies to air units, ground targets, and buildings, with one exception – walls.
- Favourite Target: Any
- Damage Type: Single Target
- Targets: Ground and Air
- Housing Space: 32
Level | Damage per Second | Damage per Hit | Aura Damage per Second | Aura Damage per Hit | Hitpoints |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 180 | 270 | 75 | 30 | 7,200 |
2 | 200 | 300 | 100 | 40 | 7,700 |
3 | 220 | 330 | 125 | 50 | 8,200 |
New Troop: Druid
In Elixir, the Electro Titan is replaced with a unit called the Druid when upgrading Dark Elixir Barracks. This unique unit can assume two forms: in its human form, it provides healing for both ground and air troops over a period of 25 seconds. Once this period ends, it transforms into a Bear that focuses on attacking defenses. The healing effect can bounce between up to four troops, but it’s unable to heal Siege Machines.
![](https://i0.wp.com/gamingonphone.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Druid-and-Bear-CoC.jpg)
If he sustains excessive harm prior to the timer expiring, he shifts prematurely. But if a Spring Trap manages to knock him out, he won’t have the chance to morph into a Bear under any circumstances. After transforming, he solely concentrates on his defense capabilities and engages in combat.
- Favourite Target: Any
- Effect Type: Ranged
- Number of Targets: 4
- Housing Space: 16
Level | Healing per Second | Healing per Pulse | Hitpoints |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 65 | 65 | 1,300 |
New Seige Machine: Flame Flinger
![](https://i0.wp.com/gamingonphone.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Flame-Flinger-CoC-TH14.jpg)
In Clash of Clans, we’ve got a formidable Siege Machine that becomes available at Workshop level 6, similar to catapult artillery. This machine launches groups of Fire Spirits, dealing substantial damage upon impact. Moreover, it sets up a blazing area for about 22 seconds, continuously damaging enemy ground troops and buildings within, much like the Poison Spell does.
- Preferred Target: Defenses
- Favorite Target: Area Splash (Ground Only)
- Attack Range: 11 tiles
Level | Damage per Second | Total Damage per Attack | Flame Maximum DPS | Lifetime | Hitpoints |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 135 | 675 | 80 | 100s | 1,700 |
2 | 150 | 750 | 95 | 105s | 1,800 |
3 | 165 | 825 | 105 | 111s | 1,900 |
4 | 180 | 900 | 120 | 117s | 2,000 |
Clash of Clans Town Hall 14 Guide: Upgrade priorities
After the Town Hall is upgraded, you should have collected enough resources to spend on upgrades.
1. Storages
Upgrading storages initially is beneficial as it increases resource capacity. You can enhance both Gold and Elixir storages up to level 15, whereas the Dark Elixir Storage can be boosted up to level 9.
2. Laboratory
Prioritizing the upgrade of the Lab is crucial as it opens access to higher levels for troops and spells. With the recent Town Hall 14 update, these newly introduced high-level troops and spell upgrades are now available.
New Troop Levels
- Level 10 Barbarian (Super Barbarian level 10)
- Level 10 Archer (Super Archer level 10)
- Level 10 Wall Breaker (Super Wall Breaker level 10)
- Level 10 Minion (Super Minion level 10)
- Level 9 Valkyrie (Super Valkyrie level 9)
- Level 8 Baby Dragon (Inferno Dragon level 8)
- Level 7 Healer
- Level 6 Ice Golem
- New Spell Levels
- Level 7 Clone Spell
- Level 8 Poison Spell
It’s crucial to enhance your units for both offensive and resource gathering purposes, so it’s advisable to prioritize the upgrade of your Laboratory as soon as you can. Feel free to choose the upgrades that best suit your strategy; pick the troops that work best for you and continue from there.
3. Clan Castle
Based on my own gameplay, I’d recommend focusing your next upgrade on the Clan Castle. When you reach Town Hall level 14, you can enhance the Clan Castle up to level 10. This upgrade costs a total of 12,600,000 Gold and takes 7 days to complete once started. At level 10, only the hitpoints and spell capacity have increased slightly, with the remaining attributes staying the same.
4. Heroes
You’re welcome to enhance your characters, or Heroes, whenever you wish, as they do not need to undergo this process in the Laboratory. However, ensure that the builders are available for this task. Currently, your Heroes can advance to higher levels and acquire enhanced abilities.
- Barbarian King: Level 80
- Archer Queen: Level 80
- Minion Prince: Level 60
- Grand Warden: Level 55
- Royal Champion: Level 30
5. Strengthening the Defence
It’s not unexpected that as you progress through CoC TH14, you should continue enhancing your defenses. This could involve anything from a basic cannon to a Hidden Tesla. However, it’s crucial to focus on upgrading your Inferno Tower and the Giga Inferno, which are both situated in the Town Hall. These two structures inflict significant damage on opponents. The Giga Inferno will require five more levels of upgrades, just like at Town Hall 13.
![](https://i0.wp.com/gamingonphone.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/2-3.jpg)
New defense levels
- Level 20 Cannon
- Level 13 Hidden Tesla
- Level 9 Bomb Tower
- Level 8 Inferno Tower
- Level 5 Eagle Artillery
- Level 3 Scattershot
6. Pet House
Previously noted, the Pet House serves as a hub for taking care of, training, enhancing, and assigning pets to your heroes. This multi-functional space offers four distinct levels, each one opening up a new pet with unique skills. To keep up with these new arrivals, it’s equally important to upgrade the Pet House itself.
CoC Town Hall 14 Attack Strategies
In the latest Town Hall 14 update, there haven’t been significant changes in the defense system that warrant special focus. However, given the introduction of a few new troops, it seems prudent to explore and develop strategies around these additions. Additionally, ensure your army troops have received upgrades as attacking without them might not yield effective results, as the upgraded defenses may quickly overcome the un-upgraded troops.
In Clash of Clans, here are some commonly employed tactics at Town Hall 14 that could help you achieve optimal success:
1. Go for mass dragons with a few healers and wall breakers for quick, efficient raids on enemy bases.
2. Adopt the “GOWIPE” strategy (Giant-Wall Breaker-Wizard-Ice Golem-P.E.K.K.A) for a powerful, all-round attack approach.
3. Use the “Lavaloonion” strategy (Hydro Dragon, Balloons, and Wizards) to inflict maximum damage on enemy defenses.
4. Consider the “QWUCC” strategy (Queen-Witch-Valkyrie-Bowler-CC) for a quick, well-balanced attack that focuses on taking out key defensive structures.
5. Experiment with the “Hogs-GOWIPE” hybrid approach to combine the power of ground troops and air attacks for versatile raids.
Farming/Looting Strategies
After updating the Town Hall, it’s crucial for players to prioritize farming resources and upgrading their entire base at the outset. Essentially, they should concentrate on gathering loot more than earning trophies. This approach can be facilitated by utilizing affordable and resource-rich troops such as Goblins and Miners.
Farming assaults can be categorized into two main types:
1. Assaults aimed at gold mines, elixir collectors (usually found on the outskirts of the base)
2. Attacks targeting storage units and dark elixir (typically located in the central area of the base)
Here are some strategies for executing these types of attacks: [Video demonstration]
Sneaky Goblin Attack
At advanced levels, goblin attacks might not yield significant rewards because defenses are tougher. However, goblins remain important for their loot-gathering potential. The Sneaky Goblins, superior troop variants, inflict more damage on resources (similar to regular goblins) and can become invisible for a short period after being deployed. Here’s a sneak peek at a Sneaky Goblin attack on Town Hall 14:
Miner Attacks
Miners, with their knack for burrowing deep underground, are ideal candidates for carrying out farm raids! Guide these miners towards a narrow path (funnel) that leads them right into the heart of the enemy base. Keep them protected by casting healing charms along the way. The cunning miners can then nab some dark elixir from the core and, if given the chance, even knock out the town hall!
Baby Dragon Attacks
Instead of saying “Baby Dragons can help in fetching a great amount of loot,” you could say “Baby Dragons are effective at collecting a large quantity of resources.”
And instead of “The Baby Dragon’s high hit points and rage ability help them to do more damage even when deployed solely,” you could say “Baby Dragons can deal significant damage due to their high health and special ‘rage’ ability, regardless of how they are deployed alone.”
Lastly, instead of “From a distance, they can take out a couple of collectors,” you could say “They can destroy several collectors from afar.”
Baby Dragons are effective at collecting a large quantity of resources. They can deal significant damage due to their high health and special ‘rage’ ability, regardless of how they are deployed alone, and they can destroy several collectors from afar.
One key benefit of this assault approach is that it doesn’t always require the use of every available unit. By strategically deploying just a few Baby Dragons, you can amass an impressive quantity of resources. This tactic can then be repeated for continued success.
Tips for Farming in CoC TH14
- Decide about what to loot and select armies according to it (if there’s a need for dark elixir, then don’t select troops who consume dark elixir)
- Use the cheapest units possible, it’ll maximize the loot gained.
- Farm in a lower league but not very low. At Least try to maintain attacks with 1 lower level lower Town Hall or else it’ll affect the loot.
- If the base can be cleared, go for it. The Town Hall and the Castle Clan also grant some loot, while this is significantly less as compared to others still it grants some.
- Eye for inactive bases as they provide the most loot.
Trophy Pushing Strategies
It’s recommended to focus on fortifying your army and village before pursuing trophies, as they will provide adequate defense. However, if you choose to seek trophies early, there are some effective attack strategies available to assist you.
Hog Attacks
In Clash of Clans Town Hall Level 14, Hog Riders serve as valuable defensive-focused troops during your attacks. By unleashing a horde of Hogs from one side of the base, you create an opening for other units to sweep through and conquer. This method typically secures at least one star in battle, with the final stars depending on the durability of the Hog Riders themselves.
Witch And Bowler Attacks
Witches and Bowlers are superb for attacking as they can attack from afar, continuously summon skeletons, and hurl boulders that bounce. By placing a Golem or Ice Golem in front to absorb damage, they remain unscathed while inflicting greater damage more effectively.
Balloon And Dragon Attacks
Over time, the strategies of Balloons and Dragons have adapted. They can be utilized separately or synergistically for more powerful moves. A Lava Hound, while offering some respite, can also be complemented by siege machines like the Battle Blimp or Stone Slammer. However, combinations of Dragon and Balloon attacks with clone spells remain popular. Check out the video below for some creative ideas.
Tips for Trophy Pushing
- Have at least one reliable army combination before pushing for trophies
- Attack on bases that’ll grant 3 stars or if Town Hall is on the outer side destroy it first.
- Always have high-level troops in Clan Castle preferably Electro Dragon and locate the Clan Castle in the middle.
- Never fall for loot while pushing for a higher league. If unsure about clearing the base, skip it.
War Attack Strategies
It’s best for players to avoid engaging in wars until they’ve fully enhanced their defense structures and troop units. Attacking a Town Hall 14 can be quite challenging, especially if the army hasn’t been upgraded yet. The bases are typically tough to conquer under those circumstances. For your convenience, here are some strategies for waging war that you might find helpful.
Yeti Smash Attack
The Yeti is now an essential element in our military forces during offensive operations. It’s versatile and can be paired with units such as Bowler, Pekka, Witch, and others. Mastering various types of Yeti attacks could significantly aid in battle outcomes.
Mass Electro Dragon Attack
In the world of Clash of Clans, Electro Dragons are among the strongest aerial combat units. This trend persists even in the TH14 battle tactics, making them worth upgrading to witness their impressive attacking prowess.
Tips for War Attacks
- Always use max-level troops in wars and Clan Castle.
- Prioritize star and attack base that can be cleared first.
- Never forget the destruction as they’ll play a vital role if the war is tied.
- Use an anti-3-star base. Below are some of the anti-3-star bases.
A larger army doesn’t necessarily mean victory, as success isn’t guaranteed in any attack. Ultimately, it’s the strategies employed by the participants that will determine the outcome of the battle.
