Demi Moore gave us a peek into her unique celebration for receiving her first-ever Oscar nomination on Thursday.

Following the acclaim she received for playing Elisabeth Sparkle in The Substance, the actress, who is 62 years old, shared a photo of her emotional response during a Facetime chat with Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Meyer, and Sara Foster on her Instagram Story.

In a snapshot captured by Foster (age 43), the mother of three appeared radiantly ecstatic, her face expressing shocked amazement as it seemed everyone else around erupted in jubilant cheers.

In a post, the eldest child of David and Rebecca Foster, who is an Oscar-nominated actress known as Demi Moore, labeled the picture she shared.

Additionally, Moore posted a heartwarming video, where he warmly congratulated the acclaimed producer Heather Parry on her Oscar nomination. She was overjoyed and expressed her happiness for her dear friend on this well-deserved recognition.

She penned down, ‘I don’t usually wake up cheerfully, but it was totally worth setting the alarm clock early for this sweet moment we shared!’ on the heartwarming video where they were hugging each other.

It appears that the recording was made shortly after she received the news, since Moore was still dressed in her nightwear at the time.

The Academy Awards nominations were announced promptly on January 23rd, beginning at 5:30 a.m. Pacific Time. This is why Moore was found still dressed in her night clothes.

Additionally, Jason Weinberg, Moore’s long-term manager, expressed his joy and pride in a heartfelt message posted to his Instagram Story.

In a total of five different categories, the chilling film received nominations: Best Film, Best Directing, Best Original Script, Best Performance by an Actress (Demi), and Best Makeup and Hair Styling.

The 97th Academy Awards, scheduled for March 2nd, are yet to occur, with comedian and television personality, Conan O’Brien, set to host the event.

This month, Moore earned her very first Golden Globe award, recognizing her outstanding role in the highly praised body horror movie.

Demi had an incredible comeback year in 2024 which was topped off by a first Golden Globe win.

In the 1990s, she was a renowned movie star often sought for roles. Surprisingly, she reappeared in the movie industry last year with a role in the gruesome slasher-horror film titled “The Substance.

After experiencing less successful movies like Striptease (1996) and G.I. Jane (1997), her box office roles became scarce towards the end of the 20th century, marking a period where she wasn’t offered as many high-profile projects.

Demi, while tearfully accepting her Golden Globe award, disclosed that thirty years prior, someone had labeled her as a “popcorn actress.” She mentioned that this remark had eaten away at her over time.

In response to receiving the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical, she stated, “Thirty years ago, a producer told me I was like popcorn.

At that point, it seemed like my success in films, which brought in substantial income, wouldn’t translate into recognition for me personally.

Initially, I invested my faith, trusting it would hold strong. However, as time passed, that belief gradually eroded me, reaching a stage where I contemplated a few years back whether perhaps I had achieved all I was meant to, or fulfilled my purpose.

At the most challenging phase, Demi mentioned, was when she got the script for The Substance, a script she described as ‘enchanting, daring, brave, unconventional, and utterly crazy.’ She continued by saying, “The universe hinted that you still have more to give.

Her three daughters – Rumer (age 36), Scout (33), and Tallulah (30) – felt deeply moved when their mother received her initial significant acting accolade, a milestone that came during a career launched in the 1980s.

Upon reaching the stage, Demi was met with applause from the VIP crowd, which took her by surprise as she confessed, “I must admit, I didn’t anticipate this at all.

Currently, I’m utterly stunned. You see, I’ve been acting for more than four decades, about 45 years to be exact, and this is the very first time I’ve ever been fortunate enough to win anything in my career as an actor.

‘I’m just so humbled and so grateful.’

So far in her career, Demi has received a total of four nominations for the Golden Globe Awards, with one of those being awarded to her just recently. Additionally, she’s been recognized with nods for both the Emmys and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards throughout the years.
