How Leo Woodall challenged himself with lead role in new thriller series

In simple terms, Leo Woodall from One Day shares that taking on the role in Apple TV+’s latest thriller Prime Target was a challenge he was eager to embrace.

Today, the freshly unveiled series debuted its initial pair of episodes on our streaming platform. The show features Woodall portraying the role of brilliant mathematician Edward Brooks, who stands at the brink of discovering a pattern among prime numbers that could grant him access to all computers globally.

Yet, it becomes apparent that a hidden adversary is orchestrating attempts to sabotage his concept, as a plot thickens and surrounds him.

As a passionate admirer, I’d express it this way: “I found myself drawn to the role of Ed for reasons unique to me. This character presented an opportunity unlike any other roles I’ve encountered before. It was a challenge I yearned to embrace, hoping it would reveal hidden aspects about myself and uncover strengths I didn’t know I possessed.

For me, that initial draw was undeniably one of the first ones. It quickly became apparent that this would be a roller-coaster of events, a gripping thrill, and I found myself drawn to its exciting nature as well.

Although the actor found it delightful interacting with the authentic Cambridge rowing team during the production, he yearns for the opportunity to engage in additional thrilling stunts such as submerging underwater and engaging in fights against villains.

However, he did tease that this could come to fruition in a potential second season.

Additionally, we had a chat with Quintessa Swindell, one of Woodall’s fellow actors, who plays an NSA agent on the show. This character joins forces with Edward to untangle the mystery behind the conspiracy.

The Black Adam actor expressed his thoughts when he initially read the script, saying something along the lines of, “Wow, me playing an NSA agent? I’m not sure it will seem authentic.

Additionally, their response piqued my interest since they said, “Yes, that’s our goal. We aim to challenge and change the way people view who is suitable for these roles.

Well, in my understanding, it seems we’re dealing with something that can be symbolically depicted. Hearing this, my response was, “Alright, got it,” followed by, “Absolutely, let’s give it a unique twist and approach it differently.

Prime Target is available to watch now on Apple TV+ with new episodes releasing Wednesdays.
