Bad Bunny’s Japan concert to stream on Spotify starting April 8

As a huge music fan, I was really excited to hear that Bad Bunny did his first ever concert in Asia back in March! He played for around 2,300 people in Tokyo as part of Spotify’s Billions Club Live series – it sounded like an amazing show.

Beginning April 8th, fans who couldn’t attend the performance can watch a filmed version of it on Spotify. This is great news for the artist known as “Nuevayol” and their huge fanbase.

The concert film, officially called “Billions Club Live With Bad Bunny,” features a performance from Bad Bunny’s hugely popular “Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour.” The tour began with a show in the Dominican Republic last November and has since sold out arenas throughout Latin America and Australia. Interestingly, Bad Bunny did not schedule any concerts in the United States as part of this tour.

Puerto Rican journalist Tatiana Tenreyro analyzes the most culturally Puerto Rican aspects of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance, and explores his powerful message calling for solidarity across the Americas against injustice.

Videos from Bad Bunny’s concert in Japan quickly went viral online, showing him perform a unique salsa version of his 2018 song with Drake. He also performed his 2021 hit “Yonaguni,” which includes lyrics sung in Japanese.

The concert film is set to debut two months after the artist, known for the song “Callaíta,” made history by winning Album of the Year at the Grammys. This win was also historic because they were the first Spanish-language performer to headline the Super Bowl halftime show, a performance that was praised for its impactful energy and meaningful messages.

Bad Bunny’s incredible success continues, and he’s taking his world tour to Europe in May. He’ll start in Portugal and then perform in countries like Spain, England, Sweden, France, Poland, and Italy.

Residente, a Puerto Rican rapper, is making his first feature film, titled ‘Porto Rico’. The movie will delve into the history of Puerto Rico as a colony, and Bad Bunny will star as the main character.

But the “Dakiti” artist’s newsworthy year hasn’t been limited to the music world.

Bad Bunny will appear in a new movie called “Porto Rico,” marking the directorial debut of Puerto Rican rapper Residente. The film, which doesn’t have a release date yet, will also star Javier Bardem, Edward Norton, and Viggo Mortensen. It will tell the story of Puerto Rico’s complex history as a colony, using the style of a Western or historical drama.
